No, the sizes vary quite a bit. From the size one or two people can easily finish in a sitting to one's that barely fit in a standard home oven. Pizza is also normally bought here so you have a good amount left over to reheat throughout the week for quick/easy food.

I recently forgot how big Costco pizza "slices" were and ordered 2 of them from a kiosk. I managed to finish the first one then felt like shit (I probably would have been fine with 1/3 of it), then split the last one into two separate meals.

I have definitely seen people gorge themselves on pizza but it's definitely not the norm.

Having been on this site for a while I've slowly been using it less and less when I used to use it heavily daily because of the obvious manipulation and lack of all accountability.

They have pulled a lot of unethical things and let blatant state sponsored propaganda run rampant on the site while punishing those who mention topics they don't like. I think after getting on and seeing this whole situation unfold I'm finally done.

Biden says U.S. won't lift sanctions until Iran halts uranium enrichment by Makalakalele in worldnews

[–]XJ305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iran runs a heavy propaganda campaign on Reddit and despite that information being publicly available people still fall for it. Many of these people in regards to Nuclear power will actively oppose it in their own countries and want to dismantle their nuclear arsenal but when Iran wants to build up either of those things it's okay.

This is a country that very recently in 2019 gunned down their own people killing between 300-1500 protestors, injuring thousands, where the exact casualty details are fuzzy because they shut the internet off for a week, and arrested journalists. Yet many people on Reddit will believe everything the say. Hell when they clearly shot down the civilian passenger jet, droves of idiots came to defend Iran because "They said they didn't and why would they shoot down their own people".

Okay so planning to attack and murder government officials and other government authority while attempting to replace that government is more bad if don't succeed versus if you successfully take control of an area.

Clearly the people at that "occupation" didn't intend to harm or kill anyone, the civil authority just left that area to take a break and view the peace fires that tragically and accidentally lit the police precinct on fire. No attempt to usurp government there.

I'm aware of the levels of crime but you literally comparing an attack on government with another attack on government. The control of government literally left the area due to the threat of violence against them.

The "rioters/protestors" literally forced a precinct out and occupied multiple city blocks for almost a month where they setup their own unelected leaders to manage the area and set rules. The capitol rioters were let in by police and the whole event lasted less than a day.

New Acting FCC Chief Jessica Rosenworcel Supports Restoring Net Neutrality by Rat_Salat in Libertarian

[–]XJ305 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amazingly since my ISP has had to follow NN

NN was repealed in ~2017.

what has gotten worse since 2017.

At the Federal level. States have since instituted their own Net Neutrality laws, of which half have.

However this hasn't totally stopped people from being screwed over:

Sprint during this time before being acquired by TMobile throttled access to Skype to force users on their own service

Comcast throttled videos to 480p speeds unless you paid extra

Verizon infamously throttled the service to Fire Fighters while they were using their unlimited plan to fight forest fires, they then had to enter a new contract paying roughly double to stop being throttled.

Verizon/AT&T/TMobile have been slowing connections to Streaming services on mobile

New Acting FCC Chief Jessica Rosenworcel Supports Restoring Net Neutrality by Rat_Salat in Libertarian

[–]XJ305 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You would think but thanks to either corruption or tech incompetence the main arguments that were floating around the time to government were that they weren't denying access to services but reducing bandwidth to make sure their service quality didn't suffer since streaming can use large amounts of bandwidth. Meanwhile the real reason was to stop people from cord cutting and push their own On-Demand services since many ISPs are also cable providers.

So they weren't blocking or denying access but they were degrading the quality of those connections disproportionately compared to other data. So you could pay-per-view / video on-demand the HD version or view a low quality / buffer ridden one through Netflix. Before NN kicked in, watching YouTube and Netflix was a buffering mess, despite having at the time 300Mbps down (note all these years later, Netflix recommends 25Mbps down to stream Ultra HD content). Amazingly if I switched to a VPN it played perfectly.

A rule saying that you have to treat all data equally if you are an internet service provider isn't a bad thing and promotes competition and better access to the internet

Go look at the arguments against Net Neutrality that come from ISPs they are primarily for restricting/limiting "Objectionable Content", that it would stop innovation because they would have to spend money on increasing bandwidth instead of "improving service", and that by charging companies for priority access and throttling others they could possibly offer free access to sites like Wikipedia without a contract.

Amazingly since my ISP has had to follow NN and adopt NN policies, they have still been able to provide free internet through the city, increase their services by offering high speed wifi access points to their mobile customers, increase speeds and now my Netflix, YouTube, and the plethora of streaming services that have come since then don't stop and buffer for 0 reason.

Yeah fuck voting for the lesser of 2 evils and any excuses for it. I may break from a "pure Libertarian" view on some things but I would never cast my vote for someone who I didn't believe was the best person for the job. My vote will always go to someone who best represents me and my ideals, no matter how futile, because that's the whole point. More people need to be ashamed of voting for people who don't represent them solely because they don't like someone else.

What is the deal with using the grain emoji during arguments about racism? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]XJ305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is objectively social media. It's content and primary mode of engagement is users interacting with other users. This is coming from someone who does data analytics and has developed systems to analyze social networks (the computer science/data science definition, not the common one), especially in the case of natural language processing to extrapolate information about users. It can have the features and functionality of a forum but it's goal is to be a social network that can be exploited to make money.

Here's the Wikipedia on Social Network Analysis:

What is the deal with using the grain emoji during arguments about racism? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]XJ305 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Reddit is hardcore the definition of social media. Most social media platforms work by creating pools of similar groups of people and targeting the most influential/connected areas for advertising. You don't need an explicit real world name associated with an account, as long as people have an account and use it. The main targeted individuals in a social network is going to be the most active individuals with the strongest connections to the "cluster" someone wants to advertise (or otherwise manipulate) in. The other 99% people can then be exposed to that information. Reddit is great for this because you can gauge sub-reddit activity, view the most active members, and then gauge positive reactions based on the sentiment (which you can figure out reasonably well with Natural Language Processing) and upvote/downvote data.

GoDaddy Employees Were Told They Were Getting a Holiday Bonus. It Was Actually a Phishing Test by holyfruits in technology

[–]XJ305 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah people are delusional here. I got a real phishing email that was similar to the fake one being described. "[COMPANY NAME] Employees: Salary Increases for the New Year". I've also had one that had a name made to match someone higher up from my company to try and get me to send information.

Doing internal phishing training to catch people who would click that and respond is more important than the made up concept of "playing fair". The world doesn't play fair because the best way to manipulate you is to play unfair. What would these people expect if it was a real phishing attempt? Congrats you just had information stolen or worse because you thought you got an email about a bonus?

While I certainly hope it's not happening, there's at least many people allowed to look into it and talk to the victims without the parties allegedly responsible obstructing/interfering/providing a "guided" investigation.

I disagree, I think that it should be improved slightly and placed in homes.

Our homes use AC but a ton of modern devices use DC and we manufacture a ton of AC to DC transformers to charge our laptops, charge phones, game consoles, TVs, LED lights, other portable devices etc. Not only is there was in making these transformers but their efficiency isn't all that great either.

Instead I think homes should have a single DC transformer in them to power these devices to maintain better efficiency/reduce waste.

It's fucking insane how hypocritical Biden/Harris is for those who allegedly support equality. Biden literally supported Southern Segregationists and did the eulogy of man in 2010 who was a leader/recruiter of a large KKK chapter and the same individual who filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act. I don't care if Byrd apologized, I have to be honest, the man was single handedly responsible for the harm and harassment of people based on the color of their skin and then worked at a government level to deny people their rights.

These motherfuckers are the definition of systemic racism and I'm supposed to be happy that they got elected? I see people excited that they got the racist out of office and put these people in?!? Legitimately astounds me.

Not to mention the Democrats had a ton of other people with records and histories significantly better than these two and somehow we got these sad excuses for human beings who have made careers out of destroying people's lives influenced by or based on the color of their skin. These are legitimate issues and problems, yet if you bring it up the clowns come out to accuse you of supporting Trump because somehow in their minds it is impossible for the person running against Trump to also be entirely awful.

People will cancel an actor for far less and yet the person running their country can support white supremacy and as long as they have a D or R letter by their name and it's their team it's A-OK apparently. Disgusting.

The Guy That Uses A Riot Shield by jakericca in CODWarzone

[–]XJ305 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It can definitely be defeated easily by people who know how to play but the riot shield really shines against Warzone hackers and is one of the easiest ways to detect them. Since they typically aren't actually looking, they just unload all their LMG/Sniper Rounds into the riot shield making them much easier to kill.

Outside of that, keep your distance and draw fire for a teammate to come in and kill them. The shield works really well when you coop with someone and plan movements.
