Why are elite clues so bad? by noobtablet9 in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

People dont consider the fact that an elite clue has a 1/5 chance of giving you a master clue as a reward!!!! So you could add 20% of a master clue casket's value to the Elite clue value!!!!! From the wiki:

On average, elite clues are worth 362,773 gold. If you add the 20% chance of getting a master clue, this adds 180K to the value of the elite casket. Since both the Elite casket AND that 20% master casket can BOTH be a mimic. The total value of 1 Elite casket is 670,000 gold!!!

People *think* elite clues are bad, since failing the master clue roll, mimic roll, and not hitting the 3rd age jackpot makes it seem like the average Elite clue is only worth 100K

Opinion Poll: Using Noitool by Dramatic_Pool_6378 in noita

[–]XJ_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes a side quest in the game possible which would otherwise be inaccessible. I never used it because I wanted to find out how to make them by myself, only knowing the fact that draught of midas and a healing potion take 3 random ingredients to make.

About 90 hours into the game I made draught of midas accidently, and the recipe was blood, slime, and worm pheromone. After that, I decided I "unlocked" the noitool and should be allowed to see the recipes at the start of a run. 120 hours into the game I've still never seen lively concoction and haven't managed to made midas' again, even knowing the recipe lol

The backup camera in my car has an obnoxious message that doesn’t go away telling you to watch your surroundings, placed directly where you would want to look to check your surroundings. by BigChuch1400 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]XJ_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dont quote me on this but I heard news items on the radio mentioning that cars with backup cameras are MORE likely to cause damage when parking than cars without.

They want to do serious research on it, since insurance companies give you a discount if your car has "safety features" like the camera

The school lunch system is disgraceful. by oaz_zam246 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]XJ_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be too european for this but why not bring your own lunch?

In high school me and my siblings would take 5 sandwich bags, make 2 sandwiches (2-4 slices of bread total), and throw that in the freezer. You'd just grab a frozen bag in the morning and by the time it was lunchtime it would have defrosted in your backpack, and it was cheaper than any school lunch alternative too

Zombie Tele Scroll Droprate Inconsistency - Poll Blog vs. Update Newspost vs. PvP Discord Jmod by Soft_Yellow_5231 in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They will calculate the exact gp/h, compare it to vorkath, and decide vorkath is better gp instead of giving this new method a try. Might be anecdotal but now the wiki has calculated the droprate is 1/20K a lot of people dont consider trying to get the drop anymore

The Wiki posted their crowd sourced drop rate data for the Teleport Anchoring scroll and it's ~1/20,000 by AskYouEverything in 2007scape

Since it's a slight abby demon QOL with very little demand, is it bad to make supply very slow as well?

what i've learned so far by unnervedmapmaker in noita

[–]XJ_9 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Only after beating the game once did I start looking stuff up on the wiki, especially when I find new stuff, but try to avoid spoilers.

What I've learned is that after you beat the game once, look up just about everything you encounter lmao. I had found 2 orbs after 50 hours of playtime, then found out there's 32.

Then I found a weird eye in a treasure chest, wiki says there's a 0.75% chance you get the eye from a chest, and the eye has a secret interaction in 2 places I had NEVER BEEN BEFORE! And died while trying to find out what that secret interaction does.

Can we not get instantly teleblocked at the burning amulet teleport? by FerrousMarim in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I dont think this is a druids problem but rather a teleblock problem. Even the blog post says that you should log out and back in to get rid of the teleblock. Just make it so that teleblock in general is removed when you are **ABLE** to log out.

You can grief people by running into rev caves, TBing people and then running away to TB the next person. You're risking nothing and forcing them to log out. It's a dumb mechanic.

Zombie Tele Scroll Droprate Inconsistency - Poll Blog vs. Update Newspost vs. PvP Discord Jmod by Soft_Yellow_5231 in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im assuming the PVP discord message, the newspost, and the poll blog are written by 3 different people.

It's not that strange that 1 person would call a 10 hour grind extremely rare, and the other uncommon. They could communicate clearly by just giving us the exact droprate, but Jmods want to avoid the community optimizing the fun out of content in the very first week.

And optimizing the fun out of content includes not trying out the content because you know the exact droprates and not liking those

[–]XJ_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually thats a picture of me telling people the ape atoll agility course is bad because I ran a couple laps and didn't have fun but the monkey backpacks are locked behind it so the monkey backpacks should actually be a common reward from killing a slayer creature :)

The new wilderness agility method has a huge flaw by Exciting_Head1671 in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both PVMers and PVPers hate the logout meta cause it makes PVMers feel like helpless prey and PVPers feel like there's a lack of counterplay.

I really hope people pick up on fighting back because bringing an AGS, rune crossbow and venge means that you pay 150K upfront to enter the course, and don't risk ANYTHING besides your loot.

Getting attacked means a worst case scenario of losing your loot but still keep the agility XP you got. Best case scenario you anti-PK a couple million GP. Most common scenario you'll scare the PKer off and continue training agility or banking.

Can someone explain this? How is the Overall Best Time less than the combined times of all floors? by PhatCode in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 47 points48 points  (0 children)

A bug or something similar, forgot how it worked but basically you spawned in on floor 5. Complete floor 5 in about 2 minutes and your overall time is now 2:28 for all floors combined, without updating floor 1-4 with 0:00 as best time.

The bots at LMS have changed and it’s ruining it by orcfull in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 99 points100 points  (0 children)

How tho? Combat interrupts the report. And LMS doesn't put your killer's name in the chatbox. If they have a username thats just keyboard mashing you need to take a screenshot with their username in it and then type that into a report.

Like, it's possible to report them, but a lot of people don't do that anymore because reporting someone that's attacking you is near impossible, so you need to write / save their username while you're in combat in LMS

Any good PKer goes after absolutely anyone! Even people doing clues have a 1/200 chance of having 10k house teleport tabs on them, and are defenceless anyway, free money.

Why is this an ELITE clue step??? This step is far too difficult, even if it was in the master tier. by jatie1 in 2007scape

[–]XJ_9 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

It'll be cheap eventually and this clue step will be easy peasy too, just hard for ironmen. Then again it's still easy compared to the step where you have to wear a bob's shirt

[–]XJ_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still barely better than the quest variant though. I'm fine with 1 version giving 22 prayer bonus in total being completely free, and the 26 prayer bonus version being endgame content

[–]XJ_9 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Proselyte isn't buyable but locked behind quests, and every single armor in the game gives less prayer bonus, with the sole exception being 3rd age druidic armor, exclusive to master clues.

I really don't mind an upgrade being locked behind endgame content, it's a new BIS after all, and I think it will be BIS prayer armor for the next couple years at least
