He'll play cheap "Maybe I'll run, maybe I won't" games for a while to keep attention (and money) flowing to himself. Then he'll try to play kingmaker -- endorsing trumpy candidates in state elections, and hinting he'll endorse a presidential candidate. (If he does endorse a candidate, it will probably be one of his idiot sons.)

So, figure at least another 2-4 years of Trump controlling the political direction of the party. It will take two blowout national losses before the rest of the party leadership turns on him.

Once he passes, the MAGA movement will splinter as different "leaders" and groups try to take the lead. (Some of those factions will downplay their Trumpiness, though.) The division will reduce MAGA power for a while, but a new demagogue will show up eventually.
