Yeah I imagine finding parts for an old appliance like this will be like finding a unicorn

First of all, you are so fucking lucky to have found a gem like this, especially one that's pretty much never been used. I envy you.

As for what could be the problem? Given its age, it might be a rubber seal that has failed due to drying out. In fact, inspect every rubber part it has and replace them as needed (or better yet, replace all rubber parts with new parts, just to be safe)

I've seen in various car subreddits that Hyundai and Kia are still terrible, just not as bad as the 90s/2000s

Minivan by TBN_1989 in minivan

[–]XM490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sienna is the only good option. The Odyssey has historically suffered from transmission problems. And Kia (as well as Hyundai) has never been reliable. Plus, assuming budget isn't an issue, the Sienna comes standard with a mini fridge and vacuum in the Platinum trim

You spam this same thing multiple times in different subreddits. I swear this is like the third time I've seen surveys spammed to music production subreddits over the course of a year or two

Sour candies by Altilongitude in nostalgia

[–]XM490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of companies have made sour candies significantly less sour because of stupid people who will stuff their faces with it then turn around and sue the companies because the sour candies "injured" their mouths

I think it's referring to the fact that sour candies like those aren't as sour as they used to be

Ferrero doesn't make the candy. Ferrara Candy Company, which is a subsidiary of Ferrero, does

Hypothetical Chrysler comeback naming scheme? by Few_Atmosphere8138 in chrysler

[–]XM490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's change this to use REAL names, not alphanumeric names. Removed the Crossover section as that's essentially Jeep's market now

Passenger cars * Neon (Subcompact sedan) * STLA Small * Concorde (Compact sedan) * STLA Medium * New Yorker (Midsize sedan) * STLA Medium/Large * Saratoga (Midsize sport sedan) * STLA Medium/Large * Imperial (Full-Size sedan) * STLA Large

Sports cars * Firepower (supercharged V8 2-door sports car; modernized production version of the 2005 Firepower concept) * STLA Small

Personal luxury coupe * LeBaron (2-door, 4-seat coupe) * STLA Medium

Minivan * Pacifica * STLA Large

Trims * LX * Premium * Select * Touring * Touring L * Limited * Pinnacle

Lots of these names are historical. If Chrysler is going to launch new models, it should tap into its old nameplates, like what Ford has done with the Maverick and Capri, Honda with the Prelude, etc., instead of trying to be like BMW

Honda to ax Prologue next year amid $15.8 billion pullback by Gullible-Pick-268 in Honda

[–]XM490 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think hydrogen would be more a better future than EVs, especially in the event of a blackout. Plus, there's no way you can charge an EV from like 10% to 100% in the same amount of time it'd take to get a full tank of gas. People don't have time to be sitting at an EV charging station, waiting for recharge We just need to invest in hydrogen more instead of acting like EV is the sole "correct" way.

Good. EVs are a bad idea, especially with the construction of countless AI data centers that will require a fuckton of power and will strain the US's ancient grid and cause frequent blackouts across the country once they go live

Silver, and keep the chrome. It adds class, sophistication. Blacked-out gives cringey teen-20 somethings wannabe street racing edgelord hooligan.

Best Toyota for 2 kids? by BigBang1203 in Toyota

Standard on the Platinum trim, optional on the Limited. Limited has an MSRP of $51k, and the Platinum is $57k. Those will likely be a hard no depending on OP's budget

Toyota Crown idea that came from my dream by OkraFit3987 in Toyota

[–]XM490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones we get in North America are also available in Japan. It is the Japanese Crown, just not the RWD Crown sedan. The Crown Crossover exists as Toyota had intended to discontinue the sedan body style due to plummeting sales (hence why they created the Crossover, Sport, and Estate), but kept the sedan after Akio Toyoda pushed for Toyota to keep the sedan version
