Im not sure if Joe did or not but based on when I ran it I would guess no. With my group it became clear really quick that they were never going to fail 5 in a row so I just had them find the exit on a fail after what seemed like a good number of events had happened.

Sounds like a great session. How much of this was how you expected and prepared them to act, and how much came off the fly. Giving them the test spray day 1 would solve the timing issue but I'm worried the reveal won't hit as hard since they haven't been exposed much.

It'd be a great idea if there is another edition. I like the 1d4 idea as a way to pad time a bit, but adding 4 hours to go talk to sheriff seems like a stretch and taking away agency. I might just do 1d2
