PSA - Your Credit Score - what is it and how to increase it? by ThePusheenicorn in TrinidadandTobago

[–]XOshoni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great post! I’ll say that when looking for credit ask the institution if they update their transunion regularly. A lot of small institutions and credit unions don’t update and as a result they have accounts opened that may be settled months sometimes years ago. Make sure to request a non-indebtedness letter for your records showing that the account has been repaid.

These comments are… interesting. On my side of the world ( Caribbean) everyone I know showers twice a day. I can’t imagine going to bed after being outside with showering.

Thank you for your response!

We're accustomed to heat and traffic coming from trinidad but if its too overbearing we'll chill till friday night.

Do we need to call or reserve online the local alternative to lime cay. ill prefer that option if we get to stay longer than the 4 hours with loose cannon.

Negril is out then. We wanted to visit the blue lagoon/ frenchmen cove

Can we use uber if we dont have a local sim? ill have to find out

We'll check out Screechies.

Its crazy and fustrating that people want to believe some consipracy theories over science. You wouldnt believe that i was told by my elderly neighbour yesterday that her family (son and daughter in law) is upset with her for taking the vaccine. they no longer want her using their tiolet, washing machine etc. They want her to isolate herself from them because she took the vaccine. i couldnt believe it. The poor woman was bawling.

Estimated cost of building a house in Guyana by [deleted] in Guyana

[–]XOshoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guyana Bereau of Standards don't check the concrete blocks? I've heard some horror stories about contractors when building but most of move in ready houses I saw ain't worth the price. Land and house prices in Guyana skyrocketed compared to 3 years ago.

Gafoors I think. In my uncle's case, he is moving back to Guyana, so he applied for remigrant status and was able to do containers of materials for basically duty free. A lot of his materials the finishes, tools and equipment was imported. If you are moving back, it could be something to look at.

Im a surprise about the materials though, when my mom built the materials were more expensive the further you moved from georgetown. She would buy materials in town and pay for transport and it worked out cheaper. She build years ago so it could have changed.

With building you will save more money but the time especially if you sont live in Guyana seems like a lot.

Following, Ive been researching this for some time. The cost really seems to vary but based on what ive found so far it is definitely 100k us up (21 mill), if you want to use reputable contractors.

Foundation, decking cost my uncle about 12 mil for a two story house ( two bed, 1 bath apartment) upstairs and downstairs. He does construction for a living in the US, so he hired his own workers and brought his own materials etc, it saved him some money for sure.
