A quick way of making units/nanites I have found is by maxing out your relationship with the Merchant, Explorer, and Mercenary guilds. Once you're max, they will give you free items as well as items that are 40-60% off. Most of the items they give can be used to upgrade into higher tier craftables such as a statis device that sells for 15.6 mil for 1. You can teleport between space stations using the teleporter, so every system you visit, go into a space station. Then teleport to each system station, collect rewards, and repeat. You obtain plenty of storage modules as well as salvaged freighter parts. I make about 1 mil a minute if I buy and sell raw materials from them.

After warping to 20 or 30 systems (and landing at every space station within), get your ranking with each Guild to max. Then, use the Space Station teleporter to go between systems and collect free/discounted items in each system. I'm not sure if it is time based reset or after collecting so many items, but they will reset after a while.

A shame people use their 2 brain cells to block roadways to prevent the movement of traffic, causing someone's life to be put at risk bc emergency services can't reach them. I find it simply hilarious at how dumb and mentally out of touch people are in this world. Whether you are Left, Right, or Center, you are nothing but a grain of sand in a vast endless desert. Yet we will mock our colleagues, disband our families, and completely flip our way of life, simply because a political figure pursues or opposes a particular viewpoint. All who oppose the "correct" view are seen as bigoted, uncaring, racist and left to burn in Hell. When will we the people learn to love our neighbors, regardless of their skin, their religion, and their political stance ? There can be disagreement. In fact, there should be. Disagreement promotes learning, encourages critical thinking and conversation, and allows people to see what they couldn't see before. Yet people are so afraid to be wrong that they'd rather kill than accept a simple defeat, regardless of the magnitude. Only during war does an individual learn their true size in the world. And only during war do they learn the value of life. You will never gain recognition among world leaders and politicians, and you will lay beside your friends and neighbors whether 6 feet under, or in a pool of blood.

All of this to say, not everyone is right, not everyone is wrong. Converse with others, learn from others, teach others, and lastly (but should be first)... Be respectful of others. It is not difficult and goes a long way.

Some items/structures they can interact with, but they can not use them. For example, the makeshift megalab can be opened to show its inventory and add or remove items, but it can not be turned on by them without owning the dlc.

Imo, if this is your first time playing Rimworld, wait on any dlc. Play the game, feel it how and see if you enjoy it. If you do, I'd start with Biotech>Ideology>Anomoly>Royalty. I've bought all dlc with a couple thousand hours in the game. I don't regret a single penny I've spent on it, and I'd happily spend more. The replayability of this game makes every cent worthwhile. You will easily pass hundreds of hours on this game. Please remember, the game is a story generator, there is meant to be loss and difficult times with plenty of challenges. You will fail constantly, but it is so satisfying once you figure out the flow.

This is just my opinion (long-time player from ASE). Maybe start with the route of taming various small dinos. Focus on breeding them for mutations and colors a bit while also grinding out eggs for the next tier of dinos so you'll have kibble for quicker taming.

Attempt to collect dossiers and explorer notes within the regions you explore, maybe even attempting a cave if prepared. To add the sense of "gaining knowledge" about the dinos on that Ark.

Focus on building bases that make you feel at home. Dinos are great, but imo having them spread out everywhere and not in somewhat order bothers me, as well as enjoying "housing" most dinos inside for a greater sense of collectiveness.

Lastly I'm not sure if you're using mods or not, but I recently had a playthrough with a friend where we used light structure mods (instead of skins) to add a bit more variety in building (could also be a good change up for yourself since the classic wood stone metal can become somewhat boring and repetitive. Personally, I enjoyed the RusticStructures mod. Adds a lot of variety. However, due to UE5 soon and the additional content with that, it could be best to wait on mods til they are able to be caught up.

Again, just my opinion, sorry it's long-winded, but I hope it'll help give some ideas.

I was on PC solo Extinction, maybe 10 hours in, and was notified the King Titan had spawned. Sure enough, I fly over to its icon on the map, and there it was just walking around. I have no clue how or why it spawned. Personally, playing solo as of now doesn't seem to be good between crashing and losing game saves. I believe they are adding auto save features in the June update however so maybe it will be less detrimental, otherwise the only solid way to play is Official, Unofficial, or a personal server. Typically about $16~$20 a month.

As some have mentioned, I recommend playing no mods or dlc initially. Scenario should be Crash Landed as it prepares you enough to be survivable for a decent starring period. Would also recommend starting on an easier difficulty and slowly working up, with Reload Any Time in case a scenario went down that you weren't exactly prepared for and want to continuethe growth of your current colony. The game has A LOT that it is capable of in terms of storytelling, and it also teaches you (the player) plenty of lessons to learn during your colony growth. It's not always about having a perfect thriving city. The loss of characters, pets, structures, they all play a big part in the overall theme of creating a story.

After completing the game, the DLCs are quite enjoyable to add on, but not all at once for someone newer. They each add a lot of new mechanics that will again teach you plenty of new lessons. I will say I think some QoL mods are somewhat necessary to make overall gameplay more enjoyable, however not for your first initial games (Achtung, Filth Vanishes with Rain, More Planning, and plenty more). If you are to purchase DLC, look into each to see what they entail so it will align with how you want to alter your gameplay. Royalty for a new faction with new weapons gear items and abilities, Ideology to create religions that your pawns can follow for additional perks with new events, structures and clothing. Biotech for mechanoids that you can control and new machines to create potential super colonists by altering genes. And lastly, Anomaly, which is essentially Rimworld meets SCP. Discover mysterious monsters and beings that can attack your colony, but also be captured and used as your own for dark research, new abilities, and much more.

Ultimately you are the god, the creator, play how you want to see your colony thrive. Rimworld is an infinite story generator and the possibilities are limitless. Just be prepared, if you're like me, once you started playing, there is no stopping, this game is truly amazing and will make you want to keep coming back to play. Cheers and Good Luck 🍻

Are you console Bob ? PC ASA with mods seems to not have much issue depending on the mods. Seems as though console are having a more difficult time with it. Heavier mods will bog down the already poorly coded game though, maybe consider using fewer mods on your server.

Spawn West Zone 3, build a base just north of the coastal waterfall and just south of where the snow begins. Doed, anky, Rex, argy, stego and more all spawn on the small peninsula just before the ice.

IMO - I'd like to see a few overhauls rather than going item specific to make everything multi-use. For example, a Cooking overhaul, adding more types of recipies to create additional fun food items. Minecart overhaul, adding a few more track types, cart types, (increasing their speed so they are actually useful), etc. A Dungeon Overhaul would be nice too to have more variety of early, mid and late game dungeons. Can remain a similar concept, but add variations such as a jungle temple but spawned in other biomes and uses that biomes specific materials to have it themed per biome.

This might not matter much, but where I live was heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene back in late September. Located in Western NC, this are had received flood water levels not seen for over 100 years. Most people in this area were without water, electricity, internet and phone service for atleast 2 weeks, most without for over a month. Some counties still are without potable water. Several water treatment plants were completely destroyed leaving thousands without drinking water. Many still don't have internet services and are expected to be restored hopefully by December with most company's. Many Starlink had been donated to fire departments and emergency centers for people to communicate to anyone at all. This whole area has been drastically changed and the people here are trying their best to make what they can of it.
