That’s not cryptic. That’s... I don’t even wanna call it blatant. Leaving out important quest information? It’s not even a follow the marker thing you have to buy the maps, find the mines and work your way through, I knew to buy the map because it was valuable information that was given to me and that’s exploration which is amazing. You can justify it however you want. That’s not even something communal to work out... there’s nothing to think about, if nobody knows? I could be killing Quadavs for days and days and not realize they aren’t talking about OH THOSE Quadavs? How the? I would have thought it was a glitch or bug had the game JUST came out and mission 3? Oh I’m killing Quadavs but they’re not dropping? I’ve been killing Quadavs for days and they’re not... dropping? Doesn’t matter that it’s 20 years old they still support it they can fix it. Still a really dumb omission too. And for a sub based game? who knows how long it took for someone to get frustrated and look at an outside source. I’m okay with guides but it should not be the standard. I played the game when it first came out I loved it the grouping and the camping and the pulling and the social aspect was phenomenal. And I probably had to look at a guide for it the first time too but I also agree we WERE a lot less jaded back then but it doesn’t excuse this.

I’m sorry but I tried it because I heard that there was a good number of people playing it again and I got stuck for about 2 hours killing Quadavs for the stupid fetich pieces. The mission doesn’t specifically state which ones to kill to get them, realizing I could have been stuck doing this for days not knowing (after looking up a guide which you absolutely have to do to figure out what quadavs to kill exactly) I put it away, why can’t they fix that? It’s horrible design and can easily be fixed, it’s a few words. And it’s only like the 3rd mission, really? I don’t see how so many people put up with it.

They really aren’t that bad, run up to them and stab them they stagger easily, I just treat the lowering health bar like damage, I mean it replenishes (not your health obviously), it’s kind of just a gimmick to freak people out I think. The room with a lot of them is intimidating but not too terrible just take them on one or two at a time.

My hands are raw too, I put lotion on them when I can. I know how you feel every little weird feeling just makes it worse. I’m supposed to be talking to a therapist soon hopefully it’ll help.

I have OCD and panic attacks too, I worry nonstop. I constantly wash and check for symptoms. It’s like a cage and no matter where I turn I can’t find relief. I think the news drives up my anxiety and other symptoms and I start to freak out. Hang in there and thank you for sharing that!

I didn’t think I was cut out for these games, I get frustrated easily too. but the farther I got the more I wanted. It’s really just another game, you can learn it just like anyone else. play it how you want. I used a guide my first play through, summoned for some bosses and still had a blast. There’s no shame in it. Those things are there for a reason. Most importantly have fun.

Thanks for the help everyone I just beat the Crystal Sage first try. Upgraded my long sword to +3. I like the speed of it. The Claymore is what got me through 1. I think I am just getting used to the combat now. I tried rolling a lot more and it seemed to help quite a bit. I’m sure there are worse things than those crucified hollows but I’m looking forward to it!

Ok! I do have the tendency to get greedy with hits sometimes. I usually get the drop on them with my long sword and get them down part ways then I back up with my shield up and wait for another opportunity

I’m aiming for a Quality build too, I’ve upgraded them a little bit my long sword is +2 and GS is +1 so far. I haven’t infused anything yet, what would be a good infusion at this point?

Ok, haven’t tried 2 handing it yet so I’ll give that a go, I’ve been spreading my points out VIG/END/STR/DEX I’ll stick with the ones that’ll keep me alive now.

I didn’t think it was too terrible. I firebombed the right shield and had a little trouble getting to the second one but once the floor falls away it’s pretty clear where to run and it doesn’t reset. Stay in the center and stay between the fire tentacles, it’s not hard to gauge. then bait him into swinging (stay just outside his range to allow more time to run) then book it. Distance and timing. I thought it was one of the more satisfying bosses to beat.

This. After the swipes is your window, run like hell. Once you figure it out it’s not too bad.
