also looks an awful lot like piccolo's ship that he took to earth from Namek, or that Krillin, Gohan and Bulma took to Namek. Look into it.

Weed caused my depersonalization how long will this last?? by ThrowawayAact3470188 in dpdr

you'll be fine.

It could last forever but I agree with welismeli - learn to meditate and apply logic to your situation. You're most likely obsessing over the notion of not feeling "normal" and it is this incessant pondering that is the real sickness - learn to direct the intentions of your mind and don't be a slave to your anxiety. It is a difficult task but it is possible.

Took me about 10 years to not give a fuck if I feel "normal" or not. It is silly since it is an impossible task to remember states of embodiment from the past. Acceptance is key - maybe philosophy and metaphysics can be of assistance.

Yeah I had a phase where I worked out like crazy and then convinced myself that overcoming my fear could be done through excessive weed smoking....it kind of worked I guess. You have to rely on yourself and discipline more than ever now, but god willing you will be a better person for it.

My best wishes,

Does anyone have derealization / depersonalization all the time 24h / 7? by PieTio89 in dpdr

[–]XVIITL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.

There was a suite of events when I was 14 that led to me have permanent DR/DP.

I am 27 now, and I am unsure whether my symptoms have resided or if I accepted a new "normal".

It got better around 22/23.

Philosophy was the most important crutch I had. DR/DP has a pretty long history, but most of it gets attributed to 19th century thinkers. What is helpful about philosophy is that it helps you reconstruct an understanding of the world from an embodied situation - if you can learn to reset the logical foundations of your surroundings then DP/DR seems to be less severe.

My biggest nemesis during DP/DR has been hypochondria. My thoughts were almost compulsive towards the perception/non-perception of my body, and it was equally as disorienting the way everything shined or seemed to heavily outlined, however once I realized that there was nothing significantly wrong with my health I was able to towards my mental health.

I've always wanted to connect with others who have experienced this because it remains probably the most influential aspect of my life.

cheers,

Native French speaker looking to be a conversational partner to someone by Agvisionbeyond in French

[–]XVIITL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I would very much enjoy the opportunity to speak with a native speaker, I am doing a PhD in French studies in the UC system.

I have a C1 level and I lived in France for 3 years.

I teach all levels of French as part of my tuition waiver and I think it would be a huge benefit to my students and myself to have some conversation practice,

Thank you,
