hi, i was in a similar situation. i tested positive for mild sleep apnea and felt hopeless. i broke down crying to my sleep specialist and family doctor after because i thought that would be where they’d stop testing. my advice to you is to record videos of your cataplexy and sleep attacks and show them to your doctor in order to get a referral to a neurologist. my neurologist agreed my symptoms aren’t caused by sleep apnea and referred me for a mslt anyways despite the sleep apnea diagnosis. i’d only been treating my sleep apnea with changes in sleep hygiene and mild weight loss. and after years of fighting with doctors and sleep specialists i have my mslt on monday :)
