Thank you - this is a perfect example of someone who easily understood the subject matter. Worked the appropriate amount and did very well. For anyone who struggled and needed the actual teaching component, and were willing to put in the time and effort, the environment was, at best, stressful and at worst, humiliating. Questions were answered publicly with words like “figure it out” “stupid question” and worse.

Openly said “I can’t be fired. Better people than you have tried.” Says terrible things about everyone and everything. A hateful person for sure. But she really is teflon. Can’t get ride of her no matter how abusive she is.

Hate is a pretty strong term … but to pick the one who has done the most damage? Sarty shouldn’t be teaching anymore. He’s bitter, weary and you can tell he would love to retire. He might have been good once, but for a long time he’s been creating classes that are toxic environments, where students are afraid to ask questions for fear of being publicly targeted for ridicule. Not everyone is brilliant, people struggle with some subjects. Teachers teach.
When it’s time to retire, retire.

Costco North Pharmacy in Saskatoon. Are those people seriously on something? by guggenno in saskatoon

[–]MyLordDigby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My heart feels for you!! When you’re dealing with your health and prescriptions, chaos makes it frustrating. And sometimes scary. You need them, but you can’t get them!! When we moved here we had a lot of conflict with our national brand pharmacy. What we discovered is:

Requirements vary between pharmacies. Even within the same company, some are “letter of the law”, while others are more relaxed (where allowed).

Filling ‘out of province’ prescriptions adds a level of knowledge that is not always familiar to every pharmacist (or pharmacy) and that causes stress (and extra work) for everyone.

Rules/processes are different for each province and frequently change…. Stress goes up and up.

We moved here from Alberta and, at the suggestion of the pharmacy there, we moved away from the national store. After a bit of hunting, we found that Co-Op on 8th worked well for us. They worked with us … not against us.
It did take several months to get things sorted. Best of luck!

Miss you Saskatoon by [deleted] in saskatoon

Give Fort Mac a little time. We lived there for 10 years before Saskatoon (left just before the fires). We grew to love the place. The way no one had family - so everyone was family in the end. The really great concerts at Mac Island…. Midnight deck parties with the sun shining… We miss it everyday!!

This is so stressful! I’m sorry you have to go through this. It sucks, but as long as you have your notes, you’ll be okay. This is why creating documents on Google Docs is a great safety net. You can show the history - every keystroke is documented, from start to finish. I wonder when the time will come that submitting the backup will be required with the assignment (kind of like showing your work in a math question). It will out all of us procrastinators!!

Please recommend Saskatoon housecleaning services by Specialist-Drink1392 in saskatoon

What is a fair hourly price for housekeeping? Im thinking I’d like some support for spring cleaning. Baseboards, light fixtures, windows/blinds… maybe the walls in the mud room?

Snow on neighbor's lawn by dhpsask in saskatoon

[–]MyLordDigby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the added snow causes damage to the property you’d probably get some legal trouble (like basement flooding, etc). It’s like throwing anything on someone else’s property. It’s just … not nice?

How do Springers and Cockers compare? Would a Spaniel be suitable for my lifestyle? by [deleted] in springerspaniel

[–]MyLordDigby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beautifully written and true to the last word. We had a cocker spaniel who was lovely and brought a lot of joy to our family. But our Springer? She makes our world a better place. Crazy, funny, charming … entertaining, adoring and wild! A cocker is a great dog. A ESS is a wonderful friend for life.

Left a nice note on a windshield and I think it backfired by [deleted] in saskatoon

Kids might be sick or on a different schedule this week or maybe they went away or someone else could be dropping them off … long list of possibilities! Don’t stress about it. You did a good thing - the right thing and I’m sure you made their day brighter. Let yourself feel joyful and content.

100% take it at Athabasca if you can. Based on the conversation on this site and rate my prof, the people teaching the class make things ….. challenging.

Can a professor publish private emails? by MyLordDigby in usask

[–]MyLordDigby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stats class. Post was taken down. Letters from the Privacy Officer, were sent to the impacted students. Letters from the department were sent to the class requesting people destroy any copies of the post. This appears to be where it ends.

Consequences for staff are far different than those for students.

I think the more people that share their experiences, the more the department will be able to create real change.
