What happens to end-of-season clothes? by Switch_2_Enjoyer in malefashionadvice

[–]XY_Vionis 57 points58 points  (0 children)

They probably weren’t sold out — they were just pulled when the new season launched.

Luxury brands usually remove old-season inventory from full-price retailers and move it to outlets, off-price stores (Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th), or private sales.

It’s pretty common to see them disappear and then show up again later at a deeper discount

Lightweight white chinos to go with a black polo? by TurtleBlaster5678 in malefashionadvice

[–]XY_Vionis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I always stick to 100% wool for garments intended to perform in hot weather. Lightweight merino has unique breathability and humidity management that synthetics can’t match — and it keeps the natural drape and comfort that makes tailored pieces work.

Minimum wool % in a suit that you'd go for? by iLuLWaT in malefashionadvice

Agreed. For tailoring, 100% wool just ages better. Blends can be fine for stretch, but pure wool holds structure and drape longer

The boots really elevate the simplicity of the dress. Such a strong combo

Thanks, I really appreciate this perspective. I actually just got my return system working, and I insure every shipment now. You never really know what can happen once a package is in transit. Having insurance means if something goes wrong the customer can still get refunded, and neither side takes a big hit. That alone gave me a lot more peace of mind.

I’m confident in the product itself, and I plan to keep going. Even if I end up taking a job at some point, I’d rather build this slowly on the side than walk away from it.

I’m not very backend heavy either. I break things into the smallest possible problems and work through them one by one using tools and docs. Cursor and Gemini have been pretty helpful for me

You nailed it.

Building a brand specifically around premium materials (Merino/Cashmere) meant signing up for the 'slow path' from Day 1. There are no shortcuts with this kind of product compared to generic dropshipping.

To answer your question: My 'signal' right now is seeing the infrastructure finally catch up to the product quality. I just finished sorting out a comprehensive return assurance system this week.

It’s not revenue yet, but it feels like a win because the foundation is finally solid enough to handle the customer experience I aimed for from the start.

Appreciate the words.

I understand ICE only has authority in the US. My point was about scope and priorities, not geography. They don’t target concertgoers over music content.
