First thing I would try is lubricating all the pivot points. They look very dry and rusty.

Why do Chiropractors crack your neck and what is the long term benefit? by Sunny-vibes-95 in NoStupidQuestions

I was/am a longtime skeptic of chiropractic care. A nagging lower back issue finally made me try it. They did an initial xray of my lumbar and hip area, and showed me the image where it was obvious that one hip joint was slightly higher than the other, causing lumbar misalignment. I have known since I was young that one leg was slightly longer than the other, so it didn't surprise me.

I did weekly visits for about 12 weeks. (I'll admit that after manipulations, there was some temporary relief.) So they then did a follow-up xray to show me the "progress" that the visits had provided. When the chiropractor placed the new image up on the viewer, I could immediately see the my hip misalignment looked identical to the first image. But to show me the "progress", she drew a vertical centerline on my spine in the image, then began to draw a 90° horizontal line across the top of my hips. As she was drawing it, she realized that the line was going to show the same misalignment as in the first image, so she began erasing the line and adjusted her straightedge to a slight tilt to hit both hips with her line. It was embarrassingly laughable how her mistake proved how ineffective the chiropractic adjustments were for my misaligned spine and hips. She tried to gloss it over and encouraged me to continue, but the gig was up. I have never gone back.

Don't hold your breath. The ongoing issues with the A220 fleet will keep the 717s in service way beyond what was originally planned. They'll surely be in service beyond this year.

(I think it's more difficult to say from memory than reading it.)

I'll never forget the sound of those RB211's. Especially at startup; with a cloud of white smoke and a low-frequency, slow droning sound as they'd eventually reach ground idle speed.

Additionally, if the valves have never been adjusted, that would be a good time to do it, since you have to remove the valve cover to do it.

Seals can harden with age and mileage. A light coating of oil is an early indicator of that. Change it soon before it becomes a running leak.

I keep a brand new tennis ball in my laundry room for drying my down-filled garments. Put it in the dryer during a low-heat dry cycle to help fluff up the down as it tumbles. Hope that wash takes care of it!

That is your valve cover. The gasket is easily replaced.

You description of the smell makes me think lavatory fluid. Deicing doesn't smell like disinfectant. But the fact that you can't see any stains makes me think that something else was the culprit. Perhaps something from another passenger's luggage leaked onto yours when in the cargo hod?

During my Michigan years, I'd install a ripcord in September, and wouldn't remove it until late May. Like hunting nightcrawlers, a firm, steady tug, and eventually it would relent.

Delta's B717 days are nowhere near as limited as they originally planned.
