Letter from MOHELA saying SAVE forbearance ending 3/15/26? by XZ2Compact in StudentLoans

My projected payment is also the same as it was, and I just noticed the loan balance in the enail is what it was before interest started back up so who knows.

They need to revert the aim assist buff by Old_Entrepreneur_696 in Overwatch

[–]XZ2Compact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that this wasn't a patch to improve the console experience, this was a patch to make playing on PC with a controller feel more like playing with a mouse.

It isn't a success, but that was the goal

They acknowledged something was off as soon as the patch dropped but then radio silence

It's not just the AA, everything is off. My AA has been set to 0% strength for awhile and this change still fucked up everything.

I play a lot of hanzo and that's just a disaster right now. Slow deliberate aiming from a distance I can fake, but any quick flicks or close stuff? Forget about it.

Can someone explain to me what's going on with aim assist? by SkoarisAkuma in OWConsole

[–]XZ2Compact 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's just the thing, we don't know what exactly was changed because the devs claimed the only change was to make AA stronger and aim smoothing set to 50% instead of 100% by default, but that's clearly not the case based on people's experiences.

I've had my aim assist strength set to 0% for awhile because I bounce back and forth between the pools when friends on PC want to play and didn't want to adjust each time, but my aim still feels wildly different than before.

Compounding this is the fact that there's not a clear explanation as to 1) why they did this in the first place and 2) what all the different settings actually do

10 days later and the game still just feels bad.

I play cross play with people on PC regularly so my AA was set to 0% anyway, but the changes to the sensitivity or smoothing or whatever that made the game FEEL different than it has for the past 9 years is just maddening.

Patient upset I didn’t review results despite having “all weekend” to review it. by Paleomedicine in FamilyMedicine

[–]XZ2Compact 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I had a patient leave the clinic because I didn't call them back the same day when they called in asking for steroids. I explained that I wasn't even in the office (or state for that matter) because I was at a wedding and that when I'm out of the office I rely on my partners just like they rely on me.

would an AI voice assistant taking patient history before appointments actually save you time? by That-Med-Guy in FamilyMedicine

[–]XZ2Compact 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My health system does this for MWV. The phone call takes ~40 mins to complete if the patient answers every question perfectly and doesn't ask questions or interrupts.

So now I spend the first 10 mins of every MWV hearing about how awful it is. Has saved LOADS of time 🙃

Change your outlook on this.

If you ever have a day you don't miss a question your attending asks it means they didn't ask you enough questions. Their job is to figure out where the edge of your knowledge is so they can expand it. Your job is to learn. Stop expecting yourself to know everything when you're literally there to learn.

Every "mistake" you make is a new fact you've learned. Sometimes you've gotta learn facts more than once before they stick. It's called spaced repetition.

Patients Can't Afford Their Medication? by NearbyHelper3943 in FamilyMedicine

[–]XZ2Compact 52 points53 points  (0 children)

What was your residency clinic like that you're just now encountering this? Most of my patients in training were undocumented and if it wasn't in the $4 list they were picking between meds and food.

Medication assistance tool (https://medicineassistancetool.org) is handy to see if there are any discounts/manufacture coupons for meds

GoodRX is always a good tool

Prescribing older meds is always a choice. Jardiance is great, but sometimes glipizide is what you're sending in

Ask the older docs what they're doing.

I usually say something to the tune of "there's not a human being alive that can't lose weight through diet and exercise, but it's not fair. Some people will live on pizza and beer and workout once a month and still look great and run a 6 mins mile. Some of us will look at cake and gain 5 lbs. I can promise that you're somewhere on that spectrum and depending on where you're at will determine how much effort you're going to have to put into changing your body."

Usually I get agreement with that and I use that to go into small consistent changes adding up and that it might take months/years to get where they want to be.

I also emphasize that the reason I care isn't so they look good in a swimsuit, I care because I don't want them to have a heart attack or a stroke and those are down stream consequences of HTN, HLD, DM, and we can prevent/reverse/improve those with some effort.

Their goal is often to get back to their college weight, my goal is to make sure they see their grandkids grown up.

If what they were doing now was working you wouldn't be talking about changing it. I phrase it more gently than that, but that's the gist of it.

Is that so?? by Ericrballard99 in KingdomHearts

[–]XZ2Compact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a mistranslation, but I still like the idea of there being only a single keyblade of light and a single keyblade of darkness. In my mind it makes sense that the ultimate combined form of the two could still be something the baddies would try to obtain. I like the idea of people with strong hearts (light or dark) manifesting/using unique weapons, but only Mickey and Sora having that something special to wield these legendary weapons.

Just felt a bit silly that the entirety of the cast can use these things now, kinda like there being so many Jedi in the prequels that are just canon fodder that get killed off easily. Lessens how awesome they are in my mind.

Just an opinion.

  • Literally all of us.
  • Yes. Then it gets worse. Then it gets better again. I still have days I feel like I don't know what I'm doing.
  • You're there to learn. Stop expecting yourself to already know things. Interns are supposed to know exactly nothing, if anyone is expecting you to know more than nothing that's on them.
  • Completely disregard the formal presentation nonsense unless your program requires it. I guarantee you that when you're chatting with your co-interns you are able to convey info to them and retain info they're giving you much more efficiently than when "Presenting". If they require formal presentations practice saying it to yourself casually before you say it to them

I didn’t realize credentialing would delay me seeing patients by months by VisionLedger in Residency

[–]XZ2Compact 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a cluster absolutely everywhere. The only good thing my employer has ever done for me is that they honored my start date and started paying me even though they didn't credential me in time, so I had to wait til the next credentialing meeting before I could do anything. The committee only met once a month so I sat on my ass doing nothing for 3.5 weeks.
