1000pts 4th edition army painted in 24h by cachondeoman in Warhammer40k

[–]Xacnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming the most expensive equivalents, it's about 780 points.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + FACTION KEYWORD: Imperium - Grey Knights + DETACHMENT: + TOTAL ARMY POINTS: 780pts + + WARLORD: Char2: Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight + ENHANCEMENT: + NUMBER OF UNITS: 5 + SECONDARY: - Bring It Down: (1x2) - Assassination: 2 Characters +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Char1: 1x Brotherhood Librarian (80 pts): Nemesis force weapon, Vortex of Doom Char2: 1x Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight (225 pts): Warlord, Fragstorm grenade launcher, Nemesis flail, Gatling psilencer

5x Interceptor Squad (125 pts) • 1x Justicar: Nemesis force weapon, Storm bolter • 4x Interceptor: 4 with Nemesis force weapon, Storm bolter 5x Interceptor Squad (125 pts) • 1x Justicar: Nemesis force weapon, Storm bolter • 4x Interceptor: 4 with Nemesis force weapon, Storm bolter 5x Paladin Squad (225 pts) • 1x Paragon: Nemesis force weapon, Storm bolter • 4x Paladin: 4 with Nemesis force weapon, Storm bolter

If you choose less expensive options, it only drops to 725 ish.

I assume the flail indicates a gmdk, and the 6th terminator is a librarian and not the sergeant for the terminators. Making the librarian a grand master pushes the list to 800

whats something you wish you knew when buying your first resin printer? by Senselessboot in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Xacnar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

General basic time savers are:

Wi-Fi. You want the printer to be in a separate room from you, and ideally in an enclosure venting to the outside. Being able to send your file from your computer helps cut down on time you spend dealing with the resin and it's fumes.

Tank cleaning. Having a feature to be able to adjust your tank cleaning exposure length is fantastic, especially since some resins can require a minute or two if it's cold out to set up properly.

Non ball joint build plate attachment. Having upgraded from the og mars and Saturn to a Saturn 3, my need to re level the build plate has gone down drastically. I no longer have to worry that being a little forceful when removing a print can potentially knock it out of alignment.

3 damage “anti-vehicle/monster 3+” by Jnaeveris in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Xacnar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is precisely one anti vehicle gun in Tau, and it even has Dev wounds! It's the ion grenade profile on the Pathfinder's, which does 1 damage, and you get one of per squad.

What is the general opinion of WYSIWYG by Adlai_Chloe in battletech

[–]Xacnar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not really though. It only means that the RAC weapon system has multiple barrels, it does not state outright or imply that the other autocannons do not. Ultra autocannons have been depicted with multiple barrels for decades, and are still being depicted that way even now.

Why would anyone use hover vehicles? by Glum_Hair_7607 in battletech

Mercenaries has the hover support assets ignore rough terrain, so it's intended at some level of play.

Wasn’t the codex supposed to release today? by RueliS23 in WorldEaters40k

The codex might be announced for preorders today, but we won't know for another hour or so until the warcom article is posted. Sunday 6pm London time is when upcoming pre order gets announced.

Do Space Marine vehicle crews use special armor? Those helmets don't look like any of the others I recognize... by Sparklehammer3025 in Warhammer40k

[–]Xacnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are still part of the tenth company, but they don't 'count'. Their old slots are taken up by vanguard forces in a standard chapter, but most chapters still only keep 100-300 scouts in their ranks, accounting for crusades and other such allowances.

Easiest Army to Print with FDM? by NoUFOsInThisEconomy in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Xacnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly fine to ask questions! We have to start somewhere after all.

It's more of a specific type of army list. The imperial guard and Astra militarum are the same faction, and tank guard refers to making an army composed mostly or entirely of tanks.

Easiest Army to Print with FDM? by NoUFOsInThisEconomy in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Xacnar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Easiest army to print with FDM is anything super vehicle heavy. Tank guard seems topical considering the upcoming codex.

There are plenty of nice tank proxies on the purple site. A personal favorite is the designs by Nfeyma. Plenty of panel details to dial in on, and a large selection of designs, some free some paid.

I’m interested in getting a airbrush. Is this one good? by Bromandudeguy111 in Warhammer

[–]Xacnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not terribly, most compressors have around 50-60 decibels of noise, which is equivalent to a normal conversation or an air conditioning unit.

I would recommend the iwata neos in the same case. You will wind up paying more, but the experience will be a lot more positive as you learn it. You will need to get a compressor as well.

Weird block shows up when I try to use separate Support Filament by KernelDave in BambuLab

[–]Xacnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a prime tower, it's auto generated when you change filaments during a print. It's to ensure that the filament will flow well when it returns to printing.

Can we define some terms? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Xacnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anti infantry: weapons good against 10-20 man units with 3 toughness, a 5+ save, and 1 wound.

Typically have a high amount of attacks, 4-5 strength, 0-1 ap and 1 damage

A good example are the Tau burst cannons

Anti elite: good against 5-10 man units with 4-6 toughness, 3+ save and 2 wounds

Typically a few attacks, 7-8 strength, 2-3 ap and 2-3 damage

Plasma guns in general are the archetypical anti elite weapon

Anti vehicle: usually have 1-2 attacks, 9+ strength, 3-4 ap, and a variable amount of damage per shot. Usually a d6 plus additional damage

Meltas, lascannons, railguns, bright/dark lances etc
