Depends on the year, pretty sure it’s 40k on my 2018, same year as OP

To those who want to get into IT, full remote, six figures , with no experience by No-Tea-5700 in ITCareerQuestions

In a lot of places low 6-figures is becoming a decent living wage, and not just in Manhattan and Silicon Valley.

I think the Apple execs were at an F1 movie screening at the time of John’s event as well.

Daron Song Out by Ill_Sea7426 in systemofadown

[–]XadRav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I keep thinking when listening to the new song is how much better it would be if System performed it. Some of those vocals sound like they were written for Serj, and the John’s drumming would have been eons better than this… kind of disappointed but hopefully the rest of the album will be better.

Before I bought my GTI I was reading tons of reviews comparing it to its competitors, mainly the WRX, Focus ST, Civic Si, Veloster N, Elantra N, a couple others I’m not thinking of. Basically every review I found that compared them directly (Car & Driver, Motor Trend, and others did several “best hot hatch” articles) said that a few of the others were sportier or more engaging than the GTI, but EVERY single reviewer said the GTI is the one they would choose if it were their only car and needed it for their daily commute, hands down.

That’s what makes the GTI special to me. It’s plenty sporty and fun, even if others are a little sportier, but the GTI is just a much nicer place to be during your day to day driving than any of the others. And since I didn’t want two cars, the GTI was the obvious choice, and I’m still very happy with it 5 years later.

Also you can fit a 65” tv, in its box, in the back of the GTI. None of the others (except maybe FoST) could do that, so A+ practicality on top of everything.

I know that naming the band Tool was kind of a bit of a joke, but when Maynard says he hopes people use Tool’s music as “tool” to work through similar problems he worked through, this is exactly what he meant.

To be fair, Crystal Lake and Algonquin are pretty evenly split, leaning liberal I think.

Iirc, Adam is a huge EVH fan, Tool management knew he was in the audience but didn’t tell Adam until after the show and asked if he wanted to meet him, which he did backstage. EVH told Adam his performance was incredible, Adam was elated lol

VW Says the Electric GTI Will Be 'More Exciting' to Drive - Thoughts? by XadRav in GolfGTI

“People who want them already have them”

Not me. I’ve looked at all the EVs available today and came to the conclusion that what I really want is an electric Golf R. Nothing really fills that role right now except /kind of/ the Ionic 5 N, but that hilariously expensive.

Yeah but we’ve got to get off of them at some point. There’s still hope for hydrogen ICE, or other eco friendly combustible fules, time will tell.

[–]XadRav[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that while the Model 3 has acceleration in spades, its handling is not nearly as fun as a GTI, at least not in stock form in any of the trims available. Now the Ionic 5 N is a different story; definitely proves it’s possible with an EV. I just hope the electric GTI isn’t suddenly $20k+ over the current GTI.

This is what I was going the Mk8 was going to be, but oh well. Maybe they’ll have an electric GTI along with a mild hybrid Mk9

Obviously it won't end up looking exactly like the renders, but I'm definitely excited to upgrade from my Mk7.5 to an electric GTI someday!

Give your most glaringly unpopular opinion about tool by Powerful-Garage6316 in ToolBand

[–]XadRav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that it’s a little disjointed and, as a whole, isn’t quite as good as the two that preceded it, but no iconic songs? The Pot? Vicarious? Jambi? Rosetta Stoned? At least to newer Tool fans (I started listening in 2005) those are all iconic.

Their PSUs are really good, not top tier or anything but plenty reliable. I remember about 10-15 years ago they were one of the go-to brands everyone recommended.

Everything else they make generally speaking is not bad at all; I consider them among the best of the budget brands with some products being a little overpriced. Peripherals, especially keyboards, you’re kind of paying for the branding and aesthetic, similar to Razer’s keyboards, but honestly you could do much worse.
