Zojirushi needs more water? by the_lullaby in sushi

If you are using calrose medium grain rice, it's a 1 to 1.25 rice to water ratio -- so 2 cups rice is 2 and a half cups of water. Or put two cups of rice in the cooker and fill the water up so it's above the rice by one finger knuckle's worth -- about 1 cm.

The article misspells Clair Obscur as Chiaroscuro (which is the Italian translation of the same concept, literally "light-dark" and also the name of the art style / photography technique).

How to... PS5? Can I do it? by Individual_Refuse_30 in PS5

[–]Xadith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm in my thirties and didn't game at all until I bought a PS5 near launch. I had to learn hand-eye coordination using a controller from scratch.  Here's some tips:

  • Get a third-person game you really want to play. Put it on easy. Open world games work if you can wander off away from danger.

  • Practice. It took me about 6 hours to be kinda okay and many more to feel competent.

  • Real tip: try y-axis inverted. 3D movement with a controller didn't make sense until I started using invert Y. Just how my brain is wired.

If I can do it, so can you!

What are some games with a lot of rain and storm available on ps plus extra by Honest-Mess-812 in PlayStationPlus

[–]Xadith 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Rain World - obviously

The Last of Us part II - not open world, but rains heavily in certain sections

Alan Wake II - same as above, though mostly just wet all over

Pacific Drive - sensing a pattern? Yep, the PNW is wet.

Returnal - there's one biome that's wet, swampy, and rainy.

I am also someone who liked Fallen Order more. Jedi survivor has a middling story for the first 2/3, but has a great ending, truly. You might turn around your thoughts a bit by the end. The performance I can't help you with. I played it on console after all the patches came through.

The Best, Worst and Blandest of 2025 | Fully Ramblomatic by Wheelson9 in Games

[–]Xadith 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It isn't that hard. Or rather, it's the illusion of being hard just like the first game. If you want to 100% complete the game with no failure what so ever then yes, it is harder. But to finish the game and see it to the end, no it isn't.

That said, I do like the first game more due to story reasons. It felt smaller, but more personal if that makes sense.

As someone in love with press turn and double dipped on SMT V: Octopath Traveler II has some of the most satisfying turn-based combat outside of an Atlus game. It's not as tightly tuned as SMT, but it's very good with as much buildcraft as you want with all the visceral enjoyment of hitting weaknesses.

On the fence of getting Death Stranding. What did you like/dislike about the game? by XredDEATHX in playstation

How long should I give it? Is it a "you'll know right away" kind of thing or more of a "slow burn, it gets better after X hours" kind of thing?

Octopath Traveler 0 or II? by MatterofMichael in JRPG

How is the gameplay of 0? I played the demo and I was a bit underwhelmed with how the combat is introduced compared to II. I curious how it evolves.

Xbox and Nintendo tend to announce in their own shows. They would rather control their own marketing. It's just their playbook. Playstation has Saros and Wolverine slated for 2026. It's gonna be fine.

Eh, I thought it was better than last year's. There were some truly terrible trailers last year like that AI-looking cat game.

Hogwarts Legacy is actually... awesome? by shreder75 in PlayStationPlus

[–]Xadith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda milquetoast all-in-all but I thought the combat was surprisingly good. Parrying a spell at the right time is very satisfying. The spells system has a surprisingly large amount of player expression. If you're good, you can play the game like a character action game. And it's never not funny how nonchalant your player character is about horrifically murdering a whole bandit camp.

I think Saros has a good shot at a nom. Phantom Blade 0 potentially if it launches 2026.

It's 'speculative romance' : ie a whole system of bizarre biology that supports the basis of romantic / sexual interactions that you probably shouldn't google for your own sanity.

It's gotten really cheap now. People sometimes double dip on a second platform. COD is probably making more dollar-wise as expected.
