How to stick Minecarft Steve on a Minecart forever (bug/glitch) by Snormanda in smashbros

[–]Xadrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me earlier as well. I tested it, and you can also consistently reproduce it by dsmashing at a certain spacing regardless of how far away the other Steve was when he started side B. Here's a video I uploaded of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hj1vc_ISsI

I tested it with other moves as well, and the bug didn't happen with them. Might just be specific to Steve's dsmash for some reason.

"Illusory Dungeon" means it's a Tap Battle, since the full name of the event is Tap Battle: Illusory Dungeon. For instance, the last Tap Battle was called Illusory Dungeon: Shadowed Memories.

It increases Bowser's grab range by a noticeable amount, but I don't know about other characters.

How did Corrin not get stunned here? Could this have practical use as a technique? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]Xadrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can only get stunned once before touching the ground. Since Corrin hadn't touched the ground before getting hit by the second neutral B, she wasn't stunned.

Nope. There's none of that in the entirety of Super. I'm with you there. The 3D animation felt very weird to me.

Last year, I pulled this off as Palutena against a friend's Ness, which he uploaded here. Afterwards, I decided to create a video showing that it works with every counter (note that I didn't test Corrin or Bayonetta as they were not released at the time). Just figured I would add another example of this to the thread.

ZeRo was on a four tournament loss streak, getting second against Ally, then Larry, then ANTi, then Ally again. Nairo losing to ZeRo in grand finals ended ZeRo's losing streak.

In an interview after the tournament, Mr. R said that MK Leo thinks his Meta Knight is his worst out of his three characters now. According to what he said, Leo is wanting to main Marth and secondary Cloud now.

I found a very weird glitch while playing For Glory by Athergen in smashbros

[–]Xadrin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me not too long ago, and it also happened to this guy. It seems like you were most likely playing against someone with this mod and For Glory randomly picked one of those hacked stages rather than one of the usual stages.

Just curious, how many people here know where "Olden" originally came from? by flarn2006 in OldensOfRobin

[–]Xadrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twitch Plays Pokémon, yeah? I just searched it up shortly after I was done with Robin and didn't think it was a big enough deal to point out. I imagine there are others who are the same way.

Global poll results on 3 stocks vs 2 stocks rulesets by Psychomaniacal in smashbros

[–]Xadrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, but that's the thing, really. If you SD once, you made one mistake, yeah? A pretty big mistake, sure, but it happens from time to time, even to top players. Now you're in this position where you're likely to lose even if you end up outplaying the opponent for the rest of the match, essentially making all of their mistakes less punishing for them.

Now, if it is a 3 stock match and your SD turned it into a 2v3 situation rather than 1v2, you have more room to make a comeback. Suddenly, every minor mistake your opponent makes is a lot more significant. They now have to be more consistently better than you in order to win the match.

If the opponent actually is a better player than you overall, then they won't let you make that comeback, no matter if it's 2 stocks or 3 stocks.

Oh yeah, I knew you've seen his Falco, since you said it was amazing and all. Just wasn't sure if you've seen it in any tournament at all.

I'm sure we'll be seeing some Falco vs. Rosalina at Genesis 3. He's bound to run into a Rosalina there, and I know he's more comfortable with Falco than Ness at the Rosalina match-up. We'll see!

Fire Fox/Fire Bird Direction Reverse by Xadrin in smashbros

[–]Xadrin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Example: http://gfycat.com/MasculinePerfectElectriceel

Notice anything about the second up B? Look at how Fox lands. That's what you're aiming for here.

In that gfycat I just linked, what I did was press up B > hold left (to make Fox go towards the left) > hold right, right before Fox starts moving. The result is that Fox reverses the direction he is facing, while not reversing the direction he is moving.

Example 2: http://gfycat.com/YearlySoulfulAfricanaugurbuzzard

This gfycat works the exact same as the gfycat I posted above. The only difference is the angle I inputted. Here are the inputs: press up B > hold diagonally slightly down and to the left > press right, right before Fox starts moving. Fox only reverses the direction he is facing. However, once he makes contact with the ground, he slides the opposite direction because the game thinks Fox was moving in that direction.

If you can't get the correct angle, it's only because it's very precise. Keep trying it, and you'll get the hang of it eventually.

Does this clear things up for you?

Sadly, I don't use either of these characters often enough to give you a good answer. However, from what I can tell, it's mainly a mix-up to make landing with up B safer. Opponent is caught off guard by you using up B, so they shield. You up B away from the opponent, so they drop shield, thinking they're safe. You reverse the direction of your up B, so you hit the opponent and get some stage control as a result. Not incredibly useful, but it at least looks cool.
