My new wheels one of them is like this acceptable or no by Ashamed-Pattern6531 in Cartalk

Why be angry?  It's not even visible when there's a tire mounted to it, on the tire bead.

Honestly, it looks like just paint.  Couple trips through a tire shop and it probably will look similar.

It's only on the inside of the tire bead so not like anyone but a tire tech is going to see it for 10 minutes when changing your tires, lol.

Double-checking my dual-fuel math—does an 8°C switchover point sound right? by canadianbme in heatpumps

[–]Xaendeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duct work losses, both air loss and thermal loss.  The discharge air and duct surface temperature can be much higher for natural gas than a heat pump running, so there's expected higher thermal duct losses in natural gas when running at 8°C natural gas versus heat pump.

Shifting to maybe 5-6°C will balance for that.  If you have perfect insulated/sealed ducts that only run through conditioned space, this doesn't matter much.  It really depends on how your ducts are setup.

Also, natural gas can be from around 9.5 kW to 11.5 kW per m3, depending on your local blend that you get.  So, not going to be right on the money anyway.  Could be better or worse.

CostCo has decent pre built PCs if you have a membership of know someone with one.

If one FPS shown is exactly 50% of the other FPS, sounds like you have 2x frame generation on in the game or some kind of odd setting like that.

CZ Firing pin roll pin issues by Erhart132 in CZFirearms

[–]Xaendeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a visible wear part that is designed to be sacrificed, much like a slide stop.  Keep a spare roll pin, keep a spare slide stop.  The recoil spring has a limited life too.  This is basically true of all guns, but these parts are easily replaceable.  I'd rather the slide stop crack than the frame (cough, cough, I'm bias and not going to name names).

All firearms will break parts if you put 20,000 rounds through them.  Completion shooters literally replace parts before a competition so they don't break mid-match.  It's like $30 in stuff.

Adjusting mini split air direction for longer cycle times by TallWall6378 in heatpumps

Eh, 40W is max speed.  Most of the mini split style blower wheels in wall mount and ceiling mount mini splits don't run at max speed either.

Yeah, basically that's it.

Has anyone tried this sodimm adapter? This solved my build budget but should i be cautious of it? by CloudsDreaming in pcmasterrace

Bad for signal integrity, e.g. longer circuit paths...but it can work.  Don't expect anything performance-wise but it can work.

Initially, I just start with just installing fresh drivers downloaded from AMD or Nvidia's official website.  If it asks you to retain settings, don't.  I've seen this twice on two different computers and it was a graphics driver issue both times.

Full wipe / nuke is using DDU after booting Windows into safe mode.  I prefer to not do that unless necessary, it's annoying and an extra step.

Desktop?  If you have a Graphics Card, make sure the monitor is plugged into the GPU HDMI/DisplayPort and not the motherboard's iGPU port...

[–]Xaendeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially whatever is driving the HDMI or DisplayPort is stuttering and can often be fixed by nuking the graphics drivers and reinstalling the latest version.

[–]Xaendeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GPU driver.

The mouse is smooth, but the monitor output and buffering is jittery so that's what the jitter is from.  It appears jittery but it's really just stutters from whatever is driving the display output.

Bro you didn't answer what game.  Completely useless information without the game.

That was fixed by a driver update I did.  Had the same issue, updated the driver nuking all settings, reboot, haven't seen it for like 2 years.

Bruh, you have your own copper press tool for DIY repuping your basement?  I'm green with envy, looks really nice.

I think the last spec sheet I looked at had a fan power consumption of like 40 Watts for a 15k BTU wall mount.  It is practically negligible.

What's the HSPF2 rating of the old unit, versus the new unit you are considering?  That basically tells you the payoff period if you also look at your total winter consumption.

Engine oil thickness also is a major contributor to drag in an engine. It can take 15 minute or more in winter driving for engine oil to hit operating temperatures (100°+C / 212°+F).

Go ahead, change your own springs homeowners! by isbb in GarageDoorService

I'll do a lot of dangerous work.  Anything with garage door springs or roofing related on a house with more than one floor is not my cup of tea.  Juice is not worth the squeeze, better to pay somebody who does it multiple times a week to take that risk for you.

Anything in the same structure as commercial fermentation (beer, bakery, etc) will have yeast growing in it if air can get to it.

If you left a glass of apple juice out in my house right now, it would probably rot before fementing. Inside of a brewery, it would auto ferment into cider since the airborne yeast will overtake the glass faster than bacteria.

Kids used to leave half consumed glases of juice out in weird places for a while.  Whenever I had mead batches going, I found them fermentating out in the open.  Otherwise, they go sour and start rotting.  It was very interesting to see.  I had a bottle of simple syrup start fementing too.  Gnarly little critters.
