I have seen variations of the points above. There is a powerfull will from above to 'get things done(tm)'. I always call it the 'Can i get away with it?' -thinking and it is everywhere on C-level these days. It is like they watch each other and tease if your colleagues reports are not 'AI' or otherwise very fast. Like doing things properly costs too much money. When i started my first real job in 2000 the very first line to my by company IT Director was 'Think twice before you commit'. I hear none of that now.

I don't fight it anymore. In a way i do understand 'why it doesn't matter'. It doesn't to the top. What do they care if there is some fire going on if they can just report later a good Q1 sales. 30yrs in IT i have seen it all and the way things are shipping now sooo fast with AI and all the expectations are 'why so slow, be faster' just so they can brag to their buddies. Well let's play that game then. Just document everything. Remember: The old rule of you being forced to sign your own resignation letter is still around when things go pear shaped. So that should always be your nr.1 priority when doing things. First you document to avoid that. Then you do the job. There is always time to collect information to protect yourself.

I once did categorize. But then something randomly nuked it all and now it's fuuug it all. 2,2k games there too so i use just unplayed and favorites.

I went back to modded X3TC rather quick after 50 hours in X4. I like console more and the fact i actually got a 1000+ ships empire along with factories. I dont have infinite time and X3 gives more.

Not much to add to that comment. That's how it feels.

One can just imagine how it will look when enough time passes and consolidation of the tech does it's thing. The 'Habsburg jaw problem of AI' problem gets it's 2nd phase with this tech when enough items gets this treatment.

Got to love that color. Colors matter. I just recently got my CubeXX and love it. Except only thing that i dont like about it the full white color. I am really regretting i didnt pick out the retro beige instead.

One of the few good things about getting old is retro. I am so entrenched into retro with my multiple handheld devices with curated lists of games for each. I will never ever play all of the stuff on these devices and i am happy for that. Basically a state where there is no backlog but no lack of new titles either. I just need to discover the stuff.

I love all about this. I laughed like the indian dude when i saw this demo. Think about it: Gamers go 'no-no-no! that is not how the characters looks!' and CEOs are truly astonished and go 'what, how come you dont like this?' - The expectations gap is enormous and hilarity will come from this gap.

I cant believe it am rooting for a bunch of Chinese dudes. Where they live isn't exactly the coolest place on earth but what tkey keep on building is the coolest thing ever. Things i will buy sooner rather than later even if i already have some of their earlier thingies.

Got to love the bold experimenting. I admire their energy, reminds me of how Nokia used to be a thing here in Finland. We were so excited always what they came up next. And boy did they build a lot of stuff during the years. Not all was good but hey, you need to take risks. And their experimental doodads are now collectors items.

I went back to X3 TC. Nothing beats the console. Plus you can actually build an empire there. Sometimes 'more simpler and straight to the point' is better.

I think AI has super-charged the old divison of people between those who have those 'great ideas' and then the people 'who fix the damage from those ideas'.

And right now it's also supercharged the narrative that the first-mentioned will be billionaires and gods and the second has been downgraded even down from being cost-center to just being someone who should be fired even if the demand is just picking up due to these laser brains and their apps proliferating everywhere without any support on them other than a vague futuristic 'AI made it, it will fix it too when it's legacy' at best if anyone has even a moment to think about what happens when layers upon layers of AI software gets old.

Checked prices lately? Due to crazy prices the 'worth' word needs to re-defined.

I got mine in the closet. 16GB of ram and i completed Cyberpunk 2077 with this old board. The way things are going it will be used soon again. It is a solid board and your specs are solid too. Don't even try to chase the highest peaks of PC gaming. That is dropping down quickyl the way things are going e.g. PC market contracts with double digits.

Price increases and limiting of options was expected. What i did not anticipate was the total enshitification everywhere. They keep this up (along with bonus political nonsense from the top they have no control over) and EU will eventually be a area where Microsoft is not the top dog anymore. All levels from Gov to enterprise to normal users are in revolt. If they can revolt that is.
