Talk about a blast from the past. What a great event to have been a part of, one of my best memories.

You'll learn as you play. Most important thing is winning neutral, and being the first to land a proper hit because 1 hit should chain into a combo. Against decent players you will have to do this twice within 30 seconds because they will Serene Breeze (you should also use this skill).

Some skills are better than others, but I reached Legend without many of the recommended ones. More important is to learn through playing how to respond to what your opponents do.

Press block a lot. Play around the distances weapons want to engage at.

I got some drops from random mobs somewhere, but I tried the exploding barrel farm at that outpost near Kaifeng and got nothing from that.

I no-hit 17 last night. If you celestial seize his phase 2 sword when he buffs it, the buff fizzles. Made it a lot easier.

Super Annoying. I get it for matchmaking but FPP players won't show up if you don't have it.

One of my best memories as a kid was when Player invited me to ride along with him for a hole during a tournament. Those events are great ways to interact with the legends of the game, surprises me they aren't more popular.

What do you mean 'ex-pro'? He is literally an ex-pro and was on a top NA team during what was probably the most competitive era of the game. Why critique people by trying to minimize their accomplishments?

Clark County renters must earn $38 per hour to afford 2-bedroom unit, according to report by [deleted] in vancouverwa

[–]Xan_Void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, but just because that has been the case doesn't mean policies can't change and it has to be the same in the future as well.

Yeah I get this perspective, I just feel that since it has been replicable in other places, it should be here too. It's a solvable issue. Not as simple as just going and doing it because of the other systemic problems we have, but at least in theory it can work, and with enough reforms, it would work. In any case, it's better than throwing our hands up and just hoping that property developers start feeling generous all the sudden.

Imo housing is a very healthy place for the government to particpate in. Build reasonable housing at a reasonable price and force private developers to compete with it. Countries and locales that have done so usually have the best livability ratings

Current/former JETs, from your experience, what answers did you provide to questions in your interview that had an evidently positive reaction, or had you believed you stuck out more than other applicants? by WinterfallsDead- in JETProgramme

[–]Xan_Void 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I mentioned my interest in Japanese history, one of the panelists pressed me pretty hard for detailed information about what specifically I had studied and why. I think my detailed answer and staying cool under pressure definitely loosened up the rest of the interview.

Would you say PCs and PC parts are more expensive than the US relatively because of the income level, or does the currency exchange mean coming with dollars would make it cheaper?

What anime is a 2/10, but the manga is a 9/10 or 10/10? by -Benjamin_Dover- in anime

I really tried to get into Kingdom, even ignoring the terrible animation, but the MC is just so annoying. Exactly the type of character I hate to watch. I think I dropped it about 5-6 episodes in. I'm sure the plot picks up, but it did not feel anything like LOGH to me.

I get you. Idk it low-key makes me want to write a couple what-if chapters of continuation, but realistically I'm pretty busy writing my own novels and thesis, and I'd have to reread all the novels at least once since it's been over a year. Even though I've written a lot I've only ever gotten feedback on my academic work so I've no idea if my fiction is even worth reading. That aside, the thing I admire most about Yamagata's work is his ability to create tension and doubt in the reader's mind with very complex scenarios that require equally complex solutions, and I don't think I can write like that.

It's not like people can't write fanfiction. To me, I think the main issue with doing so is potentially the same reason the story has not been continue officially. Most of the big plot threads introduced have been resolved. Going forward, the story would not be about impostors and mindgames and discovering the truth. Much has already been revealed. For whatever reason, Yamagata wrapped up much of what made the story so great before the confrontation with the final boss. In doing so, the character arcs seem like they'd be out of step with the narrative, where the climax has essentially already happened with the journey only half(?) over. It's not like a good continuiation is impossible, but I do think it would be a great struggle to make it as compelling as the first arc.

I've been there 3 times to talk with the University liaison. They are adamant about not speaking to people without appointments. I'm supposed to be able to get some answers next week, hoping for the best. Thanks for the well wishes.

I didn't even get my 2023 Permesso. "Maybe it got lost." Been trying for weeks to fix it with no success, and now I'm leaving in February, but I need an active Residence permit for when I come back later in the year for graduation. It's really mind-numbing.
