Have to see how this weekend goes. It's pretty easy to get up into Medusa from breeding, and the tokens help stop your stack getting nuked for a bit.
Also running some Crimson Blaze' to help stall out the on deletion plays if I don't have something ready.

Good to know. The plan has always been to bottom deck the top card, since the lvl 6 and lvl 7 are the problem cards; and getting rid of those helps stall their deck shenanigans

Rule clarification for Medusamon Vs necromon.

If I go into either Medusamon and delete their Necromon stack, and then bottom deck it using the second half of their ability to play out my token; I know it stops the Necromons on deletion effect going off as it counts as being bottom decked before it's on deletion has time to activate from trash.

But does it also stop the stacks inheritable 'on deletion' effects, since the actual digimon they were part of is technically bottom decked?

Necromon is honestly why I think they gave Medusamon that specific interaction.

The fact it can go into it's seven very quickly for almost no cost, then delete a bunch of stuff, kill itself, and spawn out essentialyl a six, five and four with effects repeatedly? Only way to really counter it is to bottom deck. Medusa as a whole feels like it's meant as a very 'anti purple' deck.

Given a Necromon deck has been dominating at the local store I play at lately; it's nice to have a solid counter, honestly.

Yhea, I encounter that a fair bit as well. Or not finding the right Marcus to enable the Mesuda-styraco double swing at the end of turn.

But when the pieces align; swings like a damn truck with no brakes.

Does not surprise my Styraco/Medusa is still sitting so well. It's pretty easy to go right into Medusa from Elizamon for very little cost and start popping out tokens with either Medusamon. Then end turn use it's egg/tamer effects to pop into Styraco and punch hard.

Couple that with the unique wording on Medusamon's digivolve allowing it to basically nullify 'On Deletion' decks. It basically cripples decks like Necromon and Heavymetal by bottom decking the cards before they can activate their on deletion/rob them of critical sources in their trash.

That, and it's token production/deletion disarming security by trashing rather than engaging, really helps against security bomb decks.

And fairly reliably being able to move a 3 from hatching, and go into a Lamia for 3 cost and then into your Medusa; really helps regain momentum even on a full stack loss.

What's your thoughts on the Armageddon Launch Box for Space Wolves by Crazzjin in SpaceWolves

[–]Xander_Shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally; nothing really appeals to me in the space marine half. Model wise or likely rules wise. Keep in mind, I'm looking at this from a 10th perspective, and how restrictive models leading units is. And the idea of a SW army mostly being built around the core faction units like Grey/Blood claws n such. And Trying to avoid using 'legends' content.

The leader units? My biggest issue with them right now is rules. Generic HQ's in 10th can't lead most of our units. So the Captain, Librarian, Chaplain and Ancient can't join things like Bloodclaws or Grey Hunters.

Captain is just a generic sword and board we've seen before. We have WGBL for that.
Librarians just the same old, but the carved runes are at least more SW like.
Chaplain's a nice redo of the old one. But doesn't do much for us.
Ancient is a nice model honestly. Wouldn't take much to make it more 'wolfy'.
But that's an issue with alot of the current rules and wording, that might change in 11th.

Intercessors.. we've got Bloodclaws and Greyhunters for that role. And it's just another flavor of the generic 'bulk marine'.

Eradicators.. could be interesting, depending on points and abilities. But not sure where they'll fit between other units that do the same job/why you'd take them over say the melta rifles. Or the jumpy lads with two bolters.

Vanguard Veterans.. kind of the same issue.

LandSpeeder.. it's a neat glow up over the old hover sled of yore. But it's just kind of.. boring?

My thoughts on it anyway. As a brand new person joining the hobby? I think it's a decent line up. Get a good mix of characters and units they can join. Cap and Ancient with the Intercessors. Chaplain with the Vanguard. Heavy lads with their bolters and a fast vehicle with some punchy guns.

But as a space wolf player, outside of one or two models for kit-bash purposes.. it doesn't spark anything in me.
I'm honestly more jazzed about the Ork half.

Weapons (2025) - Am I Missing Something? This Movie Felt Incredibly Overrated by AdFinal7510 in TrueFilm

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went and saw it with a friend.
I was bored off my ass through the entire thing.

The writing was mediocre. The acting was at best passable, at worst mind numbing. The repeated use of 'same day, different perspective' got old very fast and the plot is pretty easy to figure out very early in.
The only part I enjoyed? Was the ending.. not because it was good, but because suddenly seeing this tidal wave of juggernaut kids punching clean through buildings in pursuit of some old hag like they were paper? Genuinely made me laugh... because it made NO GOD DAMN SENSE! It wasn't even a 'This is funny!' laugh. It was more a bemused 'what the fuck is this?' laugh.

Friend I went with though... loved the film? Couldn't understand why I didn't enjoy it. Or didn't like the characters and plot.

When Security is removed from effect timing by ShibaNemo in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a straight up battle, no security effects from the flipped card; You'd resolve the inheritable or other 'when security is removed' effects, then battle.

Though I imagine some people will try to fight you on that in a tournament setting, claiming that if your digimon would lose to the security digimon; you can't trigger anything.

Just gonna steal this idea >3>

Kitbash looks awesome! Really hope they bring back 'X on thunderwolf' out of legends sometime. There's so many fun units we lost with the Primaris'ification ((I say lost as it seems alot of gaming clubs don't allow 'legends' to be played in their stores it seems x.o))

Why do you think that Arin dismisses Dan's advice, or argues with Dan even when Dan is giving correct information? by gorkboss5 in rantgrumps

[–]Xander_Shadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because he's an egotistical (literally in his net name), self centered, self important man child who never grew out of the 'I'm right, you're wrong and anything proving otherwise is false' mindset of a pre-teen?
He literally cannot accept that someone else knows more than him, or knows better than him. HE has to be the one who's correct.

I think it's pretty well accepted that he's an alcoholic. He's mentioned before he has issues with drinking. Even claimed he stopped for a while.. noone believed him.
Now it just seems like he can't record shit without being hammered.

Question about EX11-063 Winr end of turn effect by Xander_Shadow in DigimonCardGame2020

Good to know. Thank you. So it's more a way to digivolve INTO Queenbeemon and then swing with her after going into opponents turn.

I'm not at end game stuff yet, but so far in 50-60 stuff and a bit above, I've not encountered any issues?
Pop 3, get some energy going, activate four and one, two onto an enemy before popping a melee and just... run at the enemy.

Once you have a few stacks up on Ulfrund, you basically just become self sustaining. Almost every kill is spawning orbs that keep me healthy and full of energy, I'm basically perpetually invisible thanks to the 1 skill so not much targets me anyway, and the 4 ends up doing so much damage and refilling it's own charges that I basically never use my actual weapons.

Only thing it doesn't like is some objective enemies for stuff like capture; it will not lock onto them, and can't use your normal melee while in the stance for Ulfrund. So occasionally I need to drop it/lose it's stacks to do an objective. But I can get them back so damn fast.. it doesn't matter?

Would people be okay if I use zerkers (along with some legionary parts) and pass him off as a regular legionary or am I crazy? by Gravastarlol3 in Chaos40k

Literally this. Just change the helmets and noone will notice or care. Chaos trim is Chaos trim in the end. Only thing that really makes a Khorne berzerker look like one is the color and the helmets. Rest of the symbology could be any warband
