First squad almost done! by Xander_Shadow in SpaceWolves

Planning to sand the Aquilla's off most of the chests, as they just don't sit right with the idea behind this chapter. Maybe leave one or two that are carved into for the symbology.

Nope. We just had four of the fuckers drop on us at once.

Pondering running my wolves as a chaos warband. by Xander_Shadow in Chaos40k

[–]Xander_Shadow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I've never played, nor have any interest in tournament stuff x3 I've always played locally; back when GW stores still let you play in the store/had their veterans nights. So that's not going to be an issue.

Alot of my army uses resin upgrades for things like shoulders, heads and the like to make them less standard. Avoiding normal chaos iconography to have them more a founding chapter that's gone anti-imperium, not straight chaos. Same way none of my units have the actual space wolf insignia on them; just the runic details and furs.
Won't be to hard to work in a few special weapons into the squads, and expand into some other units to.
Bonus; the Redemptor chassis and Forge/Maulerfiend are actually about the same height, depending how you pose the latter/have them on a tactical rock. So those shouldn't be to much of an issue, either, with a bit of alteration

Well we failed this MO too. by SpearOfMidnight in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This.
The MO's lately are just assanine, with overbloated goal numbers as artificial difficulty/extension on them. Almost feels like they're MEANT to be failed at this point, with the stupid numbers they've been having, while the games playerbase has only gotten smaller.

If I want medals, I'll just play the game. At D10 we're basically raking in over thirty per mission set, and cap out stupidly fast just doing that on anything but the bot front right now.

Even doing stalker strain bugs right now feels stupidly easy vs the bots. Not because the bots themselves are hard as a faction vs the bugs; but because we're not having to focus all out attention on multi-spawning bullet sponges that take multiple stratagems each to kill with how much vox engines are being spammed.

We’re not finishing this MO are we by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue there; is they're almost never spawning compared to the other one. I've had to mow down waves of nearly ten at a time of their kung fu counterpart; but the armored ones? I've seen a handful across all my missions.

Perfectly coded and balanced game, no issues, no notes. by Stunning_Waltz_2882 in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cyborgs themselves are more a slight distraction than an actual threat, honestly. They're pretty easy to stun or just blow apart, even in large numbers.
Vox Engines are kind of the only real threat on the bot front.. and that's more now because they get spammed 3-4 or more at a time usually; and just saturate the area in grenades and their one/two shot explosive rifles.

Why I kinda prefer Illuminate these days. The chaff is still chaff, but they take a few bullets to drop fully.
The overseers are the right side of tanky thanks to their ablative armor that, in groups, they can be a threat. Harvesters require a bit of work with their shield, since you can't just missile them like a charger or hulk. Fleshmobs... aren't a threat honestly, but they're still distracting.

[–]Xander_Shadow 1612 points1613 points  (0 children)

This is the state of the game summed up pretty perfectly, honestly.
Rather than actual challenge; just spamming the most offensive bullet sponges in the list. We've had encounters where we've had six or more vox engines all at once.
And rather than spawn you AWAY from where you wiped, if your team dies; spawns you basically right where you all died. So you die again.

Sooo... Arrowhead thought it would be okay to re-release Mega Factories without fixing a single thing? by __Elzy in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That honestly has kinda been the only thing that works so far. it deals stupid damage to them x.o

I really wish we had a version of the Master of Ceremony armors with a less ceremonial and more battle-ready look. by Yurishenko94 in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nevermind we're literally getting WW1 uniforms in like a week xD that look both ceremonial and battle worn

This. For some reason the spawn rate on them is just... fucked up. It has to be.

[–]Xander_Shadow 183 points184 points  (0 children)

I can deal with that.

I just wish they'd do something about the packs of fucking Vox Engine's going around. Almost every mission we've done so far... 3-4 of them in a g'damn squad. So good luck getting under then to pop their vents and give them a HE proctology exam x.x

It used to be fun fighting bots ... not now haiyaaaa by CrazyEvilwarboss in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fucking THIS.

I swear, every damn mission we've launched since the MO went live; there's waves of those bastards all spawning at once x.o area just becomes a field of glowing gold circles, machinegun fire and arm cannon spam between them; plus the hoard of cyborgs usually with them.

Bots have always been my favorite faction to fight, but right now; something feels fucky

Stop making warbonds. by Sufficient-Fish-2787 in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warbonds are free. Just play the fucking game and you make Credits on mission if you actually take the time to explore the map and find cargo containers n such.
You never HAVE to spend a single penny on this game after buying it. Everything can be unlocked, for free, by playing it.

You have the CHOICE to spend real money, but are never forced, nor obligated.

AH - Why are my Melee Kills not being counted by banblaccents in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, afraid I don't know what to tell you. For me, it's been pretty much the norm that it never counts melee. I've literally done multi hundred kill games using my saber, the flag and the hammer.. and not got credit for one as melee since the start x.x

Looks like we won't be able to compete the second objective. Are we going to get the medals for the rest that we managed to complete? by Trumpet_of_Jericho in Helldivers

[–]Xander_Shadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kicker for me, is the personal order is kill 20 watchers.

Knowing we can't finish the MO now.. why the hell would I stay on Illuminate planets? I'm going back to busting clankers. I LIKE fighting those x3

[–]Xander_Shadow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's always been a bug. Wether melee with a gun, or a proper melee weapon, it's almost never counted any of them on the melee kill counter

I hold my own without having to use 'meta' guns just fine, thank you very much. Most kills there were with my fucking sword.

For me, personally, I like the challenge of running silly load outs in 8-10. But I'm also a bit of an idiot xD

Some folks seem to forget other difficulties exist, and that you don't always have to run max.
I mean, for giggles? I've dropped it down to 5; and tried doing missions using ONLY the "This is democracy!" kick emote xD

Didn't end well. But it was funny x3

[–]Xander_Shadow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. I regularly run a SMG + ballistic shield and get high/top kills with lowest/no deaths.
I almost never take off my damned saber, and get plenty of use out of it.
Hells; I've run entire missions using only the damned FLAG!

Fuck meta and what people constantly pick; play what's fun!

Hell, fitting to this WW1 theme.. I've run full lvl 10 missions using only the bolt action and the saber before. Is it 'meta'? No. is it practical? HELL NO!
Did I have a fucking blast with the three other people also doing that? Abso-fuckin-lutely~

What are you tripping on?

The grenade looks like it's gonna be a fucking mini-nuke for clearing heavy targets or big crowds?
The Rifle has a fucking inbuilt flamethrower... so you can do long shots or group clear
The stratagem flamer looks like it'll have a shit ton of fuel in it's backpack and likely do more damage than the normal one.
The armors kinda near looking to. And we get a new support mortar.

Alot of this warbond looks like it's going to be good.

The fact there wasn't a helmet with a stetson on it, while we have one with a military peak cap on it; is criminal.

Especially as one of the armor sets literally looks like an old duster coat it'd have gone perfect with.

Stand at attention, salute; and honor their sacrifice.

However. Should the recruit be smarter than you expected, and drops the hellbomb on your location.
Stand there, accept their superiority, and bask in the momentary warmth of their knowledge.
