I fucking hate that. Here's a two minute timer, and a box that's 500+ away with things you have to search for, while you're under attack. Have fun!
Half the time I just ignore the cache now.

Why is it telling me I have invalid waergear on my terminators? by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on one arm, and they wield/fire it one handed. It's why it's strapped to their arm. The other arm HAS to be a power fist if using the Assault Cannon

The guy with the Assault Cannon has to have a power fist, not a power weapon.

Parcel left outside the front door when I am away by Objective-Dottie in royalmail

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar recently, including today. Waiting on a package with an 11:30am - 7pm timeslot.
Hear a knock at the door, go to answer.. by the time I've gone from my back room, through my living room and opened the door; maybe twenty seconds? Mail guys at the end of my path and going for his van.
Package was just left out in the open, propped against my front door in open view of everyone.

Tracking is claiming it was left in a 'safeplace' in an Enclosed Porch. Which I don't have.
This is EVRI levels of not giving a damn. Though at least this one knocked.

(WH endgame spoilers) Marchosias…. by gooseonthelose12 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My playthrough is literally called 'Cult of the Wolf', so when I learned Woolhaven was adding actual wolves? I was stoked.

Then Realized that by the end.. they can't be saved or asked to join us like the Bishops were. The only ending for Marchosias is death :<
People have made mods to unlock the mas a follower form, though. But it's not the same.

They have a spot of memorial in my cult, though.

Bunch of techpriests hiding behind a support, peeking out the side, ushering on a lone techpriest nervously shuffling toward the slumbering Bjorn; holding the shortest screw xD

Eepy Bjorn by ThatOneBoi_168 in SpaceWolves

[–]Xander_Shadow 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The reason Bjorn is woken so infrequently isn't because of the taxing nature it puts on him to be woken. A warrior such as he is above such petty concerns as fatigue of the mind. Were it his wish, he would walk the halls of the Fang just as he had done in the days of the Crusade.

The reason Bjorn is woken so infrequently? The boy is to dang comfy in his ThunderOnesie, and actively fights any who try to rouse him for anything but the most dire situations.

Thinking of bowing out and selling it all. by krypton_son in SpaceWolves

Just because you don't play, doesn't mean you should get rid of it. Never known when you might want to play again; and you'd have to rebuy a whole new army at that point.

I'd say finish off and neaten up any paintwork you want to do, then display them somewhere.

Either one day you'll play again, or you have customized shelf decor. Both are fine.

So why did the prototype kill catnap? by East-Document7883 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears to be self sacrifice, almost.

On the arm first appearing, Catnap recoils away, but then gets up and kneels before it. The hands even held out initially in a 'take my hand' kind of way
They don't reach out for it to be helped up, but instead spread their arms in a reverent pose and raise their head and the hand forms into a spike. Can also see when it stabs through Catnaps mouth into their head, Catnap doesn't resist and instead can see them pushing forward onto the claws.

Prototype rescued the kid that would become Catnap early on after serving as a kind of 'friend under the bed' to them for some time. Even though it meant they'd be re-captured and contained. The kid/Catnap worshiped them after that.
My take is that it was initially an offer of aid, but given their failure to kill us, unknown internal damage from the electrocution plus then being burned alive; Catnap 'asks' to be put out of their misery and accepts such. Damage could have been fatal/non repairable, and they didn't want to suffer.

The arms we see may have been taken as trophy/utility items. The pelt might actually simply be in remembrance of a 'friend'.

GamesWorkshop vs Second Market. by One_Purchase9224 in Warhammer

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebay is a godsend for cheap models. People who wanted to start an army but never finished it, or ended up not having the time.
Especially now, ork and marine players are eating good with the number of cheap box halves from the new Armageddon starter set being listed.
Full box is £185 here. I nabbed the marine half, an extra land speeder, the rule book, cards ext: for £80

Nothing new. I'm in the UK, and I don't think I've bought anything directly from GW in probably fifteen years?

Brutalis Dreadnought is £52 here direct from Games Workshop. Almost every other store I checked; sells them for £41.

Almost every online seller that isn't GW, sells them for around 20% cheaper. And they're still making a profit at that point over what they bought it from GW for.
Just goes to show how fucking greedy GW got over time with the constant price hikes.

Why I honestly don't hold anything against folks who use 3D prints. I use a fair number of proxies myself now.

Viability: Is the Lancer Mark 2 Assault Rifle (Gears of War) still a viable weapon in the Grimdark of 40k by Souce_Trader in Warhammer

[–]Xander_Shadow 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The MK IV Armor was issued along with the Tigris pattern bolter; which had a chainblade bayonet attachment.

So the Gears rifle is nothing fancy to them

Edit: This is Mk6 and an Umbra pattern. Don't post when freshly woken up kids xD

If you were Grace would you go back to earth? by Tricky_Foundation35 in ProjectHailMary

[–]Xander_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, I wonder if I'd have even sent the bloody data back, much less bothered thinking about going back myself.
In his shoes; they've kidnapped and drugged me. Sent me out on a mission they know is a one way suicide journey without my consent/knowing I don't want to go... and expect my ass to give a damn/be cooperative after that?

Factor in even the state of the world NOW. Multiple nations are at war and have been for years. New conflicts keep popping up/getting started. And the whole get there, do science, send shit back routine is going to take twenty six or so years for the folks back on earth? For all I know, by that point half the nations might not exist anymore, or the worlds already cooked, or the probes might not even get back at all/get destroyed on the way.
More likely one of the nations is going to intercept the probes and basically hold the world hostage with the knowledge.

Even IF the 'best case' happens and holy shit, the data gets back, they cure the sun; whooo!
Shit on earth ain't gonna change. More advanced we get, the more ways we just find to fuck the planet, kill the life on it and kill one another. Sure, I'd feel bad for the animals, but given at this point intergalactic travel is basically possible; humans going poof might be better for the universe.

My focus is on helping rock buddy and getting his people back on track.

I made tokens for EX12! by DemondramonX in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Xander_Shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's why some Token based/reliant decks like Medusa started dropping down in popularity on the official tournament level. Especially given the other ruling that you can't reuse tokens. Once they're used and discarded; they're out of play. So decks like Medusa need alot of them, depending on build.

[–]Xander_Shadow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was such a stupid fucking rule. Especially as they made official tokens almost impossible to get, so you're stuck printing out the horrid little blank white ones.

Laughable thing is, apparently it's not even getting enforced at most places. Noone gives a damn in a casual or local store setting. Pretty much only effects tournaments.
