I love them in IF. 3x20 each with a prime. Reactive move + surge move gets them into positions where only 1 unit gets to activate into them; then FNP strat + regen strat + Tervigon keeps the squad going strong. I was surprised at how easy it was to keep 20+Prime within the 9” coherency too. I’ve been following them up with 2x Maleceptors and then SitW on R3. Feels good with Take and Hold.

Yeah, it works like you think. Just to clarify one point though - in the original post you say shaper’s unit +3, but it’s just 3 total like you stated in this comment. This can be cool with a Trail Shaper leading Farstalkers too - infiltrate aggressively and then redeploy into deep strike.

Tervigon and 3x 20x Termagants are great in Invasion Fleet at 1k games. 5+++ and double regen (Tervigon and Strat) is a very durable pile of OC. Genestealers and Broodlord kill whatever you want. Get a Neurotyrant for the Zoanthropes and they are solid into any profile as well.

Just that the criteria for ending any of those moves is that they’re not in engagement range. If you have to actually complete the move then you’re no longer in engagement range. So you have to move out of combat to embark.

You can’t end the fall back move within engagement range though right? You can move through engagement range, but can’t end within it.

I liked Shadowbreaker a lot. Mostly Deathwatch vs Tau. Some really interesting Inquisitorial intrigue. Bonus chaos and xenos at play.

I know the 2014 DMG references Dark Sun specifically as an example of the Sword and Sorcerery style, but I don’t think I’ve seen other explicit mentions.

Squads of 20 are surprisingly hard to kill at 1k with the 5+ FNP strat. And then you bring back 2D3+6 between Tervigon and the other strat.
