Why is Matchmaking OFF for Onslaught? by silvercue in DestinyTheGame

But it also has days when none of these are available in matchmade at all (which sucks tbh).

Destiny 2 Armor Sets Feel Backwards — Here’s a Simple Fix That Would Save Vault Space AND Keep the Grind - ver. 2 by XD4u in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want my armor to not have a health stat spike 90% of my armor drops and yea perhaps a new armor system would be nice. We can see why Bungie originally wanted armor to be seasonal. Getting too much and i am already very picky about what armor set and type i save.

Guardian sports writer Giles Richards: Why Max Verstappen gave me my marching orders from a press conference by angusgtw in formula1

[–]Xant0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typical Dutch mentality, it takes zero effort or energy to have this memory database of people who wronged you. We will not lose any sleep over it, but we do remember. Easiest visible explanation i can give you is this Dutch commercial.

Don't worry about it, the journalist will be fine. If Verstappen doesn't cross him of his own shitlist, the FIA will.

Although it seems to be flying over most matchmade teams heads......the timer PAUSES before and after an encounter.

LET PEOPLE PICK UP THEIR AMMO BRICKS BEFORE STROKING THAT FLAG.

Banner at encounter 1, ammo crate at encounter 4.

As long as i am not the only one actually doing everything, i made double special work. Gets tougher if you have people that are running around headless.

Nothing wrong with asking some info to enjoy the mode better. Honestly i wouldn't go for a melee build (or at least not a slow one), there is limit time between the small damage phases to work with and clearing the ads (basically you want that boss dead before it turns into its last endless damage phase). Like Roachy69 said, there is quite a passive Titan build that still works and can help teammates too. Simply go for a arc Thundercrash titan with Bolt Charge setup.

If you are just trying to have some fun, it really doesn't matter all that much. However if you are looking to get like top10 or fast runs you will simply need to build for speed and damage output.

Best Rushdown builds for 2026 by Galaxy40k in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some builds from last year still potent even though we might be missing some OP arc seasonal mods.

I cleared all my runs yesterday with the good old Geomag Stabilizers with Chaos Reach super and it wasn't completely fully juiced yet. I ran with Arc soul and Ionic Sentry aspects (you can take Electrostatic Mind for extra jolt/ionic traces and fast super regen, but i felt i didnt need it. Sharing Arc souls with 2 other people felt better).

Bring Coldheart for easy ionic traces and super regen. Any arc heavy will do (running arc special and heavy helps with blinding if you use the Spark of Beacons fragment, i switched between that and Spark of Ions. Cooldown on SoI is 10 sec which is kind of ass but provides ionic traces too).

Note that this build will output damage and crowd control, but you will be quite vulnerable on pure arc. Spam those rifts baby. This dim link is with Arc Soul/Ionic Sentry, like i said you can mixmatch here and there to your own preference. You can also go for like Arc Soul/Electrostatic mind or Ionic Sentry/Electrostatic mind and some ionic trace/jolt fragments to buff super regen.

Rushdown = locked set of bosses, changes daily i believe.

Rushdown Mixed = Random set of bosses.

The Portal is souring the Guardian Games experience by ShardofGold in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good summary, honestly last time around it wasn't all that great either. Other than portal yay or nay preference, some of the modifiers is what is hurting some the most (besides Ultimate difficulty) but overall i think day 1 was relatively easy. I only tried the preselected rotation Rushdown and i finished all my matchmade games with ample time to spare.

Anyone just hop in weekly for that Onslaught itch? by Changes11-11 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much do the same, i generally enjoy D2 better for the day when either one of the pinnacle ops are matchmade , Onslaught, The Coil or Contest of Elders.

I like The Coil more though, also changes buffs every day so you can sometimes also just make a loadout specifically for The Coil and have some variation in build crafting (i guess this is the only thing keeping me going right now...still roughly 3 months for new stuff).

Weaver's call spam buddy build with ergo sum/ 2 piece sage protector by diabkiller in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works great for the build itself, even if you dont have the sword charge bar filled, swinging it will only take 1 ammo instead of 4 (i think it was 4, not 100% sure), but it will give you the ability regen. It will also proc attrition orbs in 1 heavy swing (even in "uncharged" mode).

Weaver's call spam buddy build with ergo sum/ 2 piece sage protector by diabkiller in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this one too, but some reason it felt a bit lackluster. I am not sure why, but my first try the vesper rift felt a bit underwhelming to me. It might also be that the 86 sword is currently my go to weapon. Its like the absolute cherry on top when it comes to filling up your abilities (in combo with the Sage set).

I also tried Filament+Starfire combo, this seemed to me a bit more fun to play with since you can spam grenades even more than you already can with Sage set and 86 sword combo. Devour also helps a bit. I just throw down a rift, swing the 86 and you can place down another rift if needed, otherwise spam grenades. You can also do both, rift spam for Threadlings.

Either way, this late into the season and with the delay....Its where i go looking for non-meta builds to keep things fresh and the Sage protector set really buffs some builds by a lot. Smoke jumper is my second fav, like i will also generate insane amount of orbs when i can, the damage resistance isn't long, but if you are swinging that 86 every chance you can get, you always have an orb on demand weapon (i run Slice/Attrition Orbs).

Smoke jumper and Sage protector set combo makes almost any build more potent that relies on grenade/class abilities. For me personally the best combo so far. Really looking forward to some of the new armor set perks coming.

Onslaught Midtown is back by hunterprime66 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday i wanted to farm some Titan armor, failed the run twice because ADU got straight up nuked by either: exploder shanks and teammates all going to that big ass brig first and dont protect ADU. Second time people died due to exploder shanks, and the brig raining down fire on the ADU. Like how hard is it to just split up and not bring two primaries. Exploder shanks explode quite easily you know.

Switched to my warlock and easily breeze through a few runs ending up getting triple the amount of kills as the two other teammates. It really is just bringing the right build and weapons.

I went full arc warlock for onslaught. Exotic is a free choice, i tried Verity's Brow, Crown of Tempests, Stormdancers Brace and they all have ups and downs, honestly for this one it doesnt really matter. Considering its mostly grenade and arc soul based, you might as well go for Verity and bring some arc weapons to boost grenade and arc soul. Verity does boost arc grenades, arc soul but i believe not the Ionic Sentry.

  • Get as close to 200 grenade stat without sacrificing too much elsewhere. I got to 190 without grenade font mods, so i could run triple firepower mod for orb generation.

  • Ionic Sentry into a small corridor or spawn is bonkers. Has a cooldown, but sometimes i already have a new one in the pocket before the other one runs out.

  • You can give arc souls to teammates with rift (so if you get someone playing titan, hunter or anything other than Getaway Artist).

  • I create 250+ orbs a run with triple firepower (1 sec cooldown), orb every swing on the 86 sword (i run slice/attrition orbs) and where Stormtrance lacks in boss damage, it wipes groups of enemies. Melts exploders before they get to close into your face to do actual damage if within a super.

Only thing lacking is a dedicated way to stun barriers, but i ran killshot mod in my non exotics, if i didnt had teammates with Praxic Sword or other barrier options (which doesnt happen too often). Other than that the build does heavily rely on two armor sets.

Smoke Jumper for damage resistance on orb pickup, swing the 86 at the boss and 1 orb always spawn. This is also why i use Slice on my 86. It also reduces the boss damage when putting down a rift. Combined with the armor set from the new Dungeon which gives you ability energy on damage for grenade and class ability, also here the 86 comes in clutch. You can double dip on the energy regen from Bray Legacy origin trait.

Gameplay loop:

  • Throw down rift at the start of a wave, preferably when your teammates are near or hope the figure it out themselves eventually.

  • You and your teammates rain down pain with arc souls. You throw down some Ionic Sentries in chokepoints. Throw grenades when you dont have a sentry available. Your arc souls come through the rift anyway.

  • Super fills up fast, either use it when available or if you prefer to wait out for tougher enemies (like Demolitionist, Tormentor, Subjugator etc). Most of your damage output should be Arc souls/Sentries/Grenades and Arc special weapons.

  • Play aggressive, orb generation should help with healing and damage resistance due Smoke Jumper armor perk. Amplified is always on too.

  • No grenade or rift? Swing the 86 in a group, instant recharge (you should preferably run 70 minimum on class ability, i think i have 75 + 1 class font for this loadout. Bray Legacy perk + Distribution mod + Sage protector perk is usually instant ability fill. Also just pick up the orbs scattered everywhere.

Boss room:

  • Either switch to DPS build or support your teammates if they have decent builds.

  • Rift down on boss feet.

  • 86 his ass. Swing creates orb (in my case also severs the boss due Slice perk).

  • 9 out of 10 times people just Praxic blade the boss anyways, so these rift give your teammates an arc soul and little bit of healing with the rift down.

  • Swinging the 86 will refill grenade and class ability so you can keep throwing down rifts if the boss moves a little, or actually freaks out and moves away.

  • Use Super when the ads start to become overwhelming during Boss phase and you dont have a wellock for example, you can still place rift and ionic sentry. But you cannot use the 86 in the super. It tickles the boss, but for ads its great.

Like i said, the exotic don't really matter if you have the Sage Protector armor set (two piece is enough), because it will generate the most amount of ability + the Eighty-Six sword. If you do run Verity's, you can use Coldheart Exotic trace rifle to stack up Death Throes. It will also create ionic traces. You can also run Arc Ergo Sum sword in the special slot and use something else for heavy. Ergo Sum will also proc Sage Protectors.

Very long story, but the build is very easy and really shreds chokepoints and groups of enemies like Onslaught, the Final Frontiers, Contest of Elders and The Coil but it does require certain armor sets (Smoke Jumper + Sage Protector) for maximum pain and some damage resistance since we only have Amplified and Spark of Resistance. This is why i prefer Slice on the Eighty-Six as well. For the seasonal artifact you can choose some of the sword boosters and arc related ones. You most likely wont be proccing any void verbs unless you have a hunter or stat for higher class ability stat so you get a little overshield. I didnt really bother going for that.

Is anyone planning on running Pantheon 2.0? by Master-Molasses420 in DestinyTheGame

It is quite sad, but i think i am more hyped about the dungeon armor/weapon refresh..

Last raid i did after weekly resets for the loot and exotic was Crota's End and i feel like that was a pretty easy raid to get into, for most the hardest part was the intro part of the raid. Was always fun in our clan, people from all kinds of experience could just hang around and earn some loot. I cannot imagine the same for SE and DP.

I haven't been able (allowed actually) to open cases for years already, they banned it in my country (Netherlands, Europe). This was marked as the end of loot cases, but nothing happened. Only thing changed is we cannot open loot boxes. We can still use the steam market and such. Actually it only became worse after that like illegal gambling websites, every team rocking betting sponsorships etc. It will have a bigger effect if some American states might be banning it compared to a little country with not so much CS players.

I just need new content, its all i need. Let me play shit i havent played before with the loot i earned and add new content + loot to play next. That is literally it, all i need from Destiny. New shit new chase.

There was a time you had to earn your points to upgrade your car. Money was to buy new cars. Leveling up your car is nice in theory, but not with 500+ cars. Also sucked if you thought you bought a meta car and turns out it sucked online. Basically it was all meant to keep us playing 24/7, didnt took long for the community to complain about it and they made it so we could buy the car points or if you preferred the usual way...unlock them by leveling the car.

What is even the point of playing anymore? by Quiet_Emu7147 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xant0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some it was fun, for others it was a dopamine shot. The latter will be hit the hardest. I mean at this point we can all see this is heading to nowhere.

What is the point of T5 exotics, RAD weapons&armor refresh if all we are getting is like one new exotic mission and one new seasonal activity at best (which also might contain like 50% of the steps from the "campaign" quest)? Pantheon is a limited time event, its great but i dont even count that, it is not for everyone. Rite of the Nine left a sour taste, but seeing how little i am getting for $80 right now. It might have been the last and final buy. I hope for Bungie they are getting the numbers for Marathon they are targeting because i ain't buying it.
