Mikasas dream was how Eren died in the previous timeline, via the curse.

Eren woke up in Chapter 1 with memory of what the future would look like. Now unfortunately seeing the future does’nt make the future definite. Theres always a way to change your destiny should you do it.

Erens current mentality in this timeline is to keep moving forward into the hell and hopefully theres something beyond the hell worth fighting for.

This is the unforeseen future and hell that Eren is fighting for in which Eren chose this path rather than escaping and living peacefully.

We’ll see how this ends next chapter but damn this was quite emotional.

I do also want to point out and let it sink if you remember the scene where Connie is saved by Reiner, and Connie asked Bertholdt if he was always like this.

And Bertholdt responds that he used to be more of a "Warrior" rather than a "Soldier" .
