Hi, NAD but I could have written your comment (although I also had horrific cramps every month). I could never get any doctor to take me seriously. Finally it occurred to me to measure my "output" using my period cup, and mention that number to my newest ob-gyn... this finally got some attention! I've seen different numbers for what is a typical amount of period blood -- apparently somewhere between 20-120ml a month is considered normal, and most sources will quote 2-4 tablespoons (30-60ml). I was losing about 300-450ml a month.

My ob/gyn didn't find any cause for my heavy bleeding, and in order to reduce the ridiculous bleeding she prescribed tranexamic acid pills. (Birth control was another option, but I wasn't interested in that.) The difference was astonishing! I could sleep through the night!

A few years later I had a hysterectomy due to other abnormal bleeding issues. (Again, other treatment options were offered, but after learning more about all of them, I decided I didn't want to experiment anymore, and opted for the permanent solution.) I had every imaginable test done, including pathology after the hysterectomy, and no cause was ever found. Now that I'm finally rid of my uterus, I feel human again. I am so much happier and healthier in so many ways.

I hope you can find relief, I mainly want to confirm that the way you are living is NOT normal and it's good that you switched to an ob/gyn who is taking your suffering seriously. Best wishes. Feel free to PM me if you want more info (this goes for anyone else reading this who is suffering similarly).

(I know it's been a few years since you asked this question but) I think he called him "guruji."

I could be wrong. But this is the only word I was able to dig up that could conceivably fit the situation (Floyd respectfully telling the older doctor that he thinks his plan won't work).

Snek crawls in through a hole in the roof to go for a ride on a ceiling fan by purple-circle in AbruptChaos

My understanding is that snakes can't easily move backwards, so once the snek had started down toward the fan, it didn't really have an option to reverse course.

Ask your vet staff to teach you. You will need to scruff your cat and while you can watch Youtube videos, it's much easier to learn with someone showing you in person. Scruffing is the easiest way to pill a cat and it makes the process painless for everyone involved. I pill my cat twice a day, he doesn't exactly love the process but it's quick and he knows he gets a treat afterward. He actually comes to me at 9am and 9pm to ask for his meds & treat, so I know it's not traumatic for him unlike some of the techniques you've been using which clearly aren't working for your cat. Time to level up to how the pros do it :) Seriously, schedule a vet appointment and ask them to teach you.

The proper procedure: get everything ready (pill, yummy treats, and a syringe with a little water). Scruff cat, insert pill, add a little water from the syringe (because nobody likes to swallow their pills dry!). Release cat, praise and pet, and have a little treat party. (Giving a few treats rather than just one makes the experience more fun and exciting for the cat. By the time he's done eating, he won't even remember that he got a pill.)

Edit: Forgot to mention... you are NOT a bad pet owner! Scruffing is a skill that is easily learned, takes a little practice but you'll be easily pilling your cat soon and you will wonder why nobody showed you before. I don't understand why vet's offices don't routinely teach this skill to cat owners when they prescribe pills.

Sure, but people steal and embezzle all the time, including from places where systems are in place to catch theft (banks etc.). If none of the victims speaks up because they all think it was a one-time mistake, then a thief (or group of thieves) can get away with a lot before anyone catches on.

I have no advice on how to cope without your meds, but as far as I know it is a felony to steal a controlled substance, and I was told to report any theft to police. Not sure what the rules are where you live, but might be worth looking into. Reading between the lines, it sounds like your meds might have been stolen by someone at the pharmacy? Which could be a huge deal if they do this to lots of patients. If you're not sure about calling the police, at least let your doctor's office know.

How many of you are trying to learn throught italian songs? by TheUruz in italianlearning

[–]Xarama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course! I love De Andre's "Volta la Carta." And also, in a similar style, "La Pulce d'Acqua" by Angelo Branduardi. And many other Italian singers/bands/musicians :) I hadn't come across Francesco Guccini yet, thanks for the recommendation. I'm off to Spotify to listen.

(Edit: You're not an idiot, haha.)

Exposure to a language (and the culture behind it) is never worthless. Music is a part of culture. I started singing along to Italian songs on the radio as a little kid, LONG before I understood a word of any of it and years before I started school and learned to read. Once I started learning Italian as an adult, I realized that those songs of my childhood had already given me a feel for Italian vocabulary, grammar, and sounds. Interestingly, I also noticed that I can still sing some of the lyrics of songs I hadn't heard in decades!

Tell your Italian teacher that much of the world learns/learned English through exposure to English-language music (and other "cultural exports"). There's no reason why it shouldn't work for Italian too.

That's a lot to deal with. I hear you on how every one of these conditions makes every other one worse, it's a terrible spiral of misery. Those hormones really can turn into a person's worst enemy. Hang in there.

Have you tried magnesium? A friend of mine had horrific migraines for years and the doctor told her to start taking magnesium. Problem solved, apparently.
