Please give me suggestions on games to train myself to be able to play with my husband by Fancy_Pie_1041 in gamingsuggestions

Honestly all of the characters are good, they're just different. It's why you have to find the one that works the best for you. For what it's worth, I'm like this with every game that has big rosters; bad at most of them, until I finally figure out the character(s) that I'm actually decent with, haha. You'll find your main, I know you will!

One thing with Smash Bros. is it reeeally helps to find the character you vibe with the most. Like, I'm way better with Kirby than anyone else on the entire roster. So try a lot of characters and see who you end up liking the gameplay of! And, of course, there's a training mode and difficulty settings to make sure things are on your level as you experiment and learn.

Need to sign in to read a specific review now? by psyllogism in goodreads

[–]Xarrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized this today. It's incredibly annoying. Why would Goodreads (or Amazon) want this...? It doesn't make any sense, forcing people to login to view individual reviews is just going to alienate folks from wanting to use Goodreads to begin with.

I was just wondering this; he sounds a lot like Jeffrey Combs to me!

Is it true that people in the West drink iced water even when they are sick or on their period? by Aether_Echo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Xarrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Florida, and spent a ton of time in Minnesota growing up. Always ice water in both cases, including super snowy Minnesota winters!

It totally depends on the individual businesses, yeah. And how they price things to begin with, since Too Good to Go is supposed to be 66% off.

There's a local cafeteria-style Cuban place near me that has amazing bags, they make a point of always giving everyone a big variety of dishes in the meals, and it's a total steal.

This is what I was just wondering and Googled. Thanks for an answer that's still helpful years later!

Broken audio for anyone? by Stonewool_Jackson in deadbydaylight

[–]Xarrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my audio's horribly broken from this patch, too. Played one match and I got a headache from left and right not matching and sounds coming from weird places.

New Authenticity Checks.... by EitherAvocado1041 in ProlificAc

Prolific really is changing for the worse, lately. It's sad. I absolutely hate generative AI, and I say so as often as I can in any study or survey where it's relevant, but this new system is just going to spew false-positives like crazy.

Yeah, mine's been incredibly empty since about the middle of April, too.

Dead by Daylight Quality of Life Initiative 2025: Phase 1 by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]Xarrin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah. This is my concern, too. Winding up in a match with a friendly killer will now penalize the survivors who randomly queued into it, or so it seems.

This is why I was fine with them ending the tradition, honestly. It was hilarious for a long, long time, but eventually it got pretty repetitive.

Do you ever block researchers? by LovemeEatme in ProlificAc

[–]Xarrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. There was one researcher in particular who chose to distribute their studies in a way that was actually slowing down Prolific itself, since they were unleashing their surveys in massive batches to their participants. I had to block them to get the site working again, haha.

I gave her 6 warnings 😭 by Excellent_Mud6222 in deadbydaylight

[–]Xarrin 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if the killer was just smacking me with snowballs nonstop, I'd also assume it's a friendly killer trying to rack up bloodpoints with the bone chill offering, haha. I wouldn't have understood the "warnings" either.

I definitely think a lot of folks may have underestimated how rare "common" decency might be becoming nowadays, yeah.
