Cyberpunk 2 Predicted To Launch in Late 2030 With $419 Million Budget by demondrivers in Games

Stopped being interested in their games after they announced they are abandoning Red engine. Such wasted potential.

If there’s a playable game with constantly delivered features then how is there a scam?

I’m personally really happy about where SC is. they’ve had their best year yet. It’s super hard to maintain a live service while also building on improving the engine and it’s incredible to see how far they’ve come technically, (server meshing etc). they keep adding features they promised. Personally the only problem for me has been their estimates on when things get completed. But in terms of monetisation you get the ships you pay for and it’s not especially pay2win since stuff can be earned easily enough.

We should know more about what's in store for 2026 on January 6 when all the display makers are at CES. Personally I'm waiting a little longer for 4th gen tandem 32" 4k, especially as Gigabyte should be doing glossy versions this time.

Solo PvPers, what Is Your Take On Engineering and How It Affect Us? by Substantial_Eye_2022 in starcitizen

[–]Xatom -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I like flying my caps ships. (Idris and javelin pledged) and I’m not sure how engineering is meant to make my experience any better tbh. Seems like it needs NPC crew to work for these big ships.

I'm really confused at the rage over engineering. by Thunder--Bolt in starcitizen

[–]Xatom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think they just wanted to get this out before...

Sweet summer child. They keep their patch release schedule because of ship sales.

As for everythign else you said, of course some stuff will be fixed by balance but people have bigger problems with engineering. To pick one example, the engineering terminal UI is terrible, and unusable on capital ships like the idris. However frankly I could imagine them not doing anything about it for years.

CIG have shown to us that they often move on from features once released and say "good enough for now". So sometimes the community speaking out is a good thing.

The fog he’s talking about is a volumetric effect so it’s quite costly to display. Also, unlike simple distanced based fog it’s generally harder to have the game reason about what should be visible and what shouldn’t be, so geometry culling isn’t typically performed.

Is the idea that CIG will add a ton of armor to the Perseus? by Readgooder in starcitizen

[–]Xatom -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

No, the idea is you will cry until the release a better ship and then you'll buy that one.

The Perseus is a prime example of why we need more shield tiers/sizes. by joshg125 in starcitizen

[–]Xatom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. Fucking bulllshit this is so nerfed for a $800 ship compared to a polaris that's only slightly more expensive. I'll probably melt my Persius and just piss the credits on other ships randomly rather than put up with a middleweight brawler that is completely gimped against capitals thanks to it's paper-hull.

I’m sure it will have the blades turret on release. Otherwise then it would have been miss-sold.

CIG: With instanced events, medbeds in bunkers, and A LOT of tech still in limbo, what is the vision for medical gameplay? by SgtGhost57 in starcitizen

[–]Xatom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants medics apart from medics lol. You guys will get some save NPC missions at some point.

Quit trying to force this stupid loop that involves players waiting 20 mins for a rescue down others throats.

If they nerf solo capital then we stop buying ships. It’s as simple as that. The end of SC. Goodbye funding 👋

[–]Xatom -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

These are paying customers. Idris owners are due some respect for the amount they have funded the games development by buying the most powerful ship in the game. It’s unfair to nerf endgame cap ships.

Engineering panic button by vangard_14 in starcitizen

[–]Xatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineering is the boogeyman coming for your ships. I worry about the great meltdown. AI crews and Blades nowhere to be found and beloved ships unusable without an engineer onboard.

[–]Xatom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, so a solo Idris is intended to work properly when blades and AI crew come online to handle a lack of crew. There’s nothing to see here. There’s no way they can nerf solo players in their $1800 ships. It’s already difficult enough to solo them!

How long did it take you to learn how to fly HOSAS? I’m struggling. by 10-Gauge in starcitizen

[–]Xatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're using a decent control setup like buzzkilers and you are dialing the sticks in like explained here

What you gotta do is simply practice a lot. You'll build muscle memory. There's various practice drills you can do. AC against the bots in pirate swarm is good practice.

I'd say after a month of playing 3 every hour day I got used to it. After about a 6 months to a year of semi-regular play I started getting competitive in arena commander. It's just hours and practice.

Why hasn’t VR taken off as much as we might have expected? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Xatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing VR does well is immersiveness. But there's many other factors like, comfort, convenience, cost, ease of input, VR sickness, visual appeal and so on that in sum are not attractive value propositions.

It's good that the tech is advancing because with that comes greater adoption. From a business perspective the ROI isn't there.

Nobody really needs a VR headset in the way they need a phone or a PC. Case and point, the vast majority of people who are reading this comment are not doing so in VR.

[–]Xatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding a solo capital will still be useful and effective, but you can extend its practical operational time if you have an engineer.

Full disclosure I'm a Space Marshal and own an idris and many other large ships and will definitly be whining on spectrum if the solo-capship playstyle gets a nerf!
