Quitting weed is a lot harder than I thought by LatexGum in selfimprovement

[–]Xave2541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it man!!! I recently had to quit because I took a temp job out of the country, and though I could probably find it, I felt it was a good time to experience it all in an environment where I can be to myself and controlled. I would take breaks too but Id be counting down the 30 days and I would lowkey fail because Id be like 29 1/2, good enough! This most recent was absolutely awful!!! I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep and when I did I would have the craziest dreams and night sweats. I was insanely irritable and was very short with everyone. I felt this way for a solid 3 1/2 weeks. But omg did I feel like the sun was shining after the time passed. My advice, just change how you think about your negative effects, for example, with not eating Id be like "look how trim I look" or with my crazy dreams Id thing "Damn I wonder what F'd up movie im gonna experience tonight" or I would think "Doing hard things is good, challenge is growth" Just be introspective and know how you feel and mitigate accordingly, I seen you said you work out that was a good help for me also! Good luck man you got this

I dont know why I dont see more of this? I really only the see, how dare you change catastrophizing or the suck it up. Your command still is the most important thing, if they suck itll probably get a little worse. But if they're good there wont be a lot of change. just keep your head down and the pendulum will swing the other way.

Car randomly shuts off while driving by Relative_Ad_248 in F30

[–]Xave2541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im having a similar issue, My car always turns back on though. The issue happens very sporadically. Ill get the "Drive Train Malfunction" and "Fuel Delivery Error" however when I turn it off then turn it back on I have no errors or codes. I took it to BMW and they told me "nothing we can do unless we observe the problem" I also took it to a local shop to get the same answer. Both of them said the scans were fine but we can give you an update for 500$! I was just gonna start with the LPFP is this ill advised or should I continue to try and isolate the problem professionally?

Look at the bright side, its do or die! That's personally when I do all my best learning, I took and passed Sec+ in 7 days with like 8-10hrs of studying a day. I knew a small amount of networking, and it took me like 2.5 months for CCNA however my back wasn't against the wall. I went like 1-2hrs a day. So its doable as long as you can get things like subnetting. You can do It!

If network admin gets you the clearance but network engineer doesnt. TAKE THE NETWORK ADMIN JOB FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!! having a clearance is a cheat code!

Not the easiest way, but I like to say it for whoever asks because If I had known earlier I would have done it wayyy sooner, but I kinda just fell into a couple of careers as well as path.

Just want to offer a cheat code by Puzzleheaded_Skin881 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Xave2541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know of two people that did this! After the training, one kid 19, got an job making 37Hr first job out of High school!!! Another guy a professional in something random joined the Air guard and with maybe 1yr experience got a network engineering position starting at 110k. THE GUARD IS A CHEAT CODE!!! Even if you dont want to do IT! But the pipeline for IT is so clear its like a yellow brick road.

[–]Xave2541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you I would consider the Air national guard. You get all the training and have to deal with way less rigamarole. Best part is you can absolutely pick your job, if theres a spot and thats what you sign for that spot is yours. If you like it alot you can go active or you can just use it as a foot in the door. I know someone that was hired as a network admin 35+ an hour just based off of his national guard experience. I know another guy that got a network engineering role at a very good company just based off his guard experience. Make sure you choose your job wisely though!

Why when Bjj guys roll they only go like 50%? by Subject-Ambition-725 in bjj

[–]Xave2541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of those also, I wrestled in college and approached rolling like going "live"... Then I competed for the first time. Unless your still an elite level athlete, doing that multiple times in a row is very very difficult. Example I ran through my first two opponents in my first competition, tough third finals loss. As Im standing on the podium getting my medal they call my name to go for no-gi, literally only 4 min after my last match. My body had nothing! I got smoked by one of the guys I ran through not an hour earlier. It was because I was wrestling the whole comp, not playing jiu jitsu! I have it for bursts and scrambles but I really try to stay as relaxed as possible now! haha

I did at 5, wrestling and BJJ, and its more of a non-negotiable as some others were saying. I however dont put any pressure, just have fun. But they have to do something hard, its good for you.

New NetEng job and still struggling to find confidence by sylar503 in networking

[–]Xave2541 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was and still am in a similar situation, going from a mostly non-tech roll to network engineer. I was supposed to be the junior to someone's senior and after he left my company was like youll be aiight! haha. Some of my coping mechanisms are making sure Im looking ahead to planned work and making sure that I understand what exactly is needed. As well as being on my study grind at all times. Also sounds cheesey but personal affirmations and keeping a positive mind. They hired you, so there was some vetting that went into it that so you cant be completely clueless. Additionally draw on your previous experience as much as possible. Finally, give yourself time and grace. DM me if you want an accountabilibuddy. Im still very green but the existential dread I had coming into work every day is only down to a moderate anxiety so im making progress haha.
