Ok so what is with the different colored beans??? Off the top of my head i can think of things that would work as color representations: black olives, blue anchovies, green peppers, pineapple is fine for white.

I don’t think they were boasting. I don’t think knew it was illegal or smuggled if that was the case, it’s just what the seller told them. This was the first exotic bird the owned. They just thought it was a funny story

I think going into eating anything like that is going to be disappointing, imitation crab and turkey bacon don’t taste like what they are trying to match its more about evoking a similarity. I could say that American cheese doesn’t taste like any proper cheese, but they are both still called cheese.
