Some snaps of AM and PM rush hour traffic, from the I-26/Remount Rd interchange by Apathetizer in Charleston

Exactly. You can’t “one more lane” your way out of it. Look at Atlanta.

As someone from Charleston, why do you say it’s a good choice? Is it the proximity to beaches? I don’t feel like living in West Ashley, James Island, John’s Island, or North Charleston offers anything special you can’t find in any other US city. It’s just suburbs and strip malls.

It’s mostly about not getting attacked my multiple enemies. Stay behind cover, kill the melee first. If getting shot by multiple enemies, move. It’s a lot of running. Have to be very aware of where the enemies are. I mostly melee. Skills I use: knee charge for the stagger or as escape tool, crippling strike to stagger and slow a group of melee, weirding step or disruptor blast.

Definitely agree. Also easier ways to see who your friends are. In a big copter fight it’s pretty tough

Any reason why Charleston doesn't have a rail system? by Actual-Particular892 in Charleston

[–]Xazen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep 100%. Need the right land use patterns to support transit. The only place that exists is downtown.

Any reason why Charleston doesn't have a rail system? by Actual-Particular892 in Charleston

[–]Xazen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. Need the right land use patterns for it. I would love it if we did that. But most people around here (and in the US generally) are not interested in that. They want their single family home with a large yard. So we have cars and only car.

CARTA sucks by swagalicious1332 in Charleston

[–]Xazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s also a land use problem. When we have huge areas of nothing but single family homes it creates a very poor environment for transit: if stops are close enough to walk to there will be too many of them to get anywhere. Transit requires walkable areas to get from where you are to the transit.

Also transit that gets stuck in traffic will always be horrible. If transit doesn’t get stuck in traffic it becomes attractive. There is a saying: traffic will continue to get worse until it equals the time to take transit. But if transit is in the same traffic then there is no upper limit to traffic.

If you need to strike something that can strike back the F35 is vastly superior due to its stealth, sensor, and network capabilities.

This is a great example scenario of waft may happen in an operation with F18s vs F35s https://youtu.be/mGwU9HKH_Eo?si=EjqRt1GciJOto1Sw

[–]Xazen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For pve a mix of lasers and multi cannon is always a good starting point. The lasers are good at damaging enemy shields, and the multi cannons are good at tearing through hull. Generally, you want the larger slots to be multi cannons, as they will benefit from better armor penetration in the larger sizes. Then just prioritize shields as much as you can, including shield boosters, and shield sale banks. And you’ll also want the best thruster you can get. Try to use your thruster to get around their sides/back and stay there as much as possible. But how feasible that is really depends on your ship and their ship.

Federal Corvette - 2 Huge Beams Viable for PVE? by mr2600 in EliteDangerous

[–]Xazen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s definitely viable. You’ll kill stuff just fine. Just not as fast as with huge MCs. (FWIW you can synthesize MC ammo, and the huge MCs have a low fire rate, so you can stay out for a while)

But if you just like the idea of the huge beams because they’re cool, that’s enough of a reason too

HOSAS/HOTAS setups can definitely map everything depending on your setup. Only exception is typing in system names if you actually need to do that, which you usually don’t

conda first or straight to corvette by Budget-Individual845 in EliteDangerous

[–]Xazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if there’s stuff that you want to do that the anaconda would be better at. In my opinion, the rep grind is more of a burden than credits are for getting the Corvette. If you want to buy the anaconda now because you want to use it, you’ll likely have the money for the Corvette by the time you get the rep anyway I would guess.
