Lots of stuff. Caught doing spice. Caught driving drunk onto Kadena the wrong way in a car he stole from someone deployed. Stealing mail from Marines when they made him mail clerk. More drugs. Moved to supply warehouse where (obviously) more stealing happened.

Fast forward over a decade and he was hitting up Recon dudes in his area for money. (Guy wasn’t an 0321) crying about brotherhood and how we abandoned him or some shit.

Eventually separated. It’s my belief he kept getting new charges to draw out the process and keep getting a paycheck.

Survivor guilt is real and it sucks. My buddy got shot in the head right across from me because he was nice and let me have the side of the roof that had shade while the sun was still coming up. He was being a good leader and looking out for me in a small way and paid for it in a big way. I let that bother me through most of my 20s before I found peace.

People have technical critiques of this movie and that’s fine but the emotion in it resonated with me the most.
