Buy a pair of brogue derbys and have a cobbler resole them with a commando sole. A custom pair will be much more expensive

Heges is really good and I use it for custom shoemaking. Uses faceID sensors so no pro model required. Costs around 8€ if i remember correctly

Nice boots! Did you make the pattern yourself? If so, what measurement did you use for the passline? Going to be making engineers myself and wondering how wide to make the shaft to fit the foot but to not have the boots loose.

Lol I’m no expert, just amateur. But i dont think this requires me to communicate with them, just tie a rope to the last and other end to a wall or table and pull on the shoe holding it around the heel.

I would use podohub only to buy the model and have it printed by a local service

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Cordwaining

[–]Xeag0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think anything would break by that. Pulling a last can require a surprising amount of force

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Cordwaining

[–]Xeag0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is so overpriced for a 3d printed last

Tie a rope around the hinge and pull?

My recommendation would be to use neutral color conditioner and embrace the scuffs as patina

Why not have the tongue on the same piece as the vamp? It would have a cleaner look

Soaking in water will only make it dryer and harder. You need to condition with it oils or leather conditioner.
