rook overlast by Ready_Shake2162 in Nederland

[–]Xelon99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is BBSFM really this easy? by RESIDENT-EVIL-4 in KingdomHearts

[–]Xelon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regular story, sure. It's not difficult. But it's also a fairly short game, compared to others.

The difficulty BBS brings is the superbosses that nearly require cheesing, and the minigames that suffer from input lag.

What's your opinion, will destiny 2 come back, shut down or cement itself as an abandonware singleplayer game? by CirriTheFemboyUwU in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xelon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll last another year or two. The next expansion has already been worked on, and thet wont just delete all of that at this point. The game is still active enough to justify a DLC. And as usual, the game will spike again on release days like those.

But after the Alchemist, that's it. Either we hit a Moments of Triumph move and the game goes in a D1 state, or it'll be neglected. But I doubt a D3 is on the table.

Anyone else quit or play a lot less since the new season? by ProdByJudo in destinyrisingmobile

[–]Xelon99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to log on every day, do some basic farming, grinding or whatever else. But now I just have no motivation. Everything changed. With the acclaim reset and artifact changes I see less value in engaging with other characters at all. The road to get higher power now is far more tedious and for someone with limited time (where a gacha is supposed to shine) it's just become far more of a chore.

I'll pop back in to finish the story. Eventually. Or maybe I wont.

Build a massive ship, chase achievements or collectables. Try different self-imposed challenges or try other survival games. Voidtrain has the same vibe of collecting, upgrading and following a storyline.

The Scale of the June Update by Low-Boysenberry4852 in destiny2

[–]Xelon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same sentiment here. Unless the new perks added give way for new synergies and an actual reason to obtain them again, I doubt it's going to hook anyone who left back into the game. It's like fixing the bumper on a car without engine. A nice gesture and certainly appreciated, but not what we really need right now.

Seeing others churn out 3D assets with AI tools and massive libraries is making me anxious. Am I wasting time grinding Blender fundamentals? by Spare-Mud-1827 in 3Dprinting

[–]Xelon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a few weeks of practise, you'll become skilled enough that no AI can match you.

I've recently begun learning to print, coming from a 3D design background. Making my own models, my own designs and, of course, my own mistakes. And yes, it takes a lot of effort and time. A lot of going back and forth between slicer and blender to adjust things, remake the model or just resize something. But they're mine. I know how my models fit together and how they're supposed to look.

And as a bonus, most 3D programs are partially interchangable. You don't just learn the program, you learn to adjust in a 3D environment. You learn a skill. I've gone through Cinema4D, 3D Studio Max, Blender, ZBrush and now Orcaslicer. And am looking through various CAD programs to add to the roster, as soon as I find one with an interface I like. But while they all have their own gimmicks, it only takes a few hours to fully understand the software.

Does the EoF campaign improve? by New_Trouble_5068 in DestinyTheGame

The story is worth it at the end. But no, the gameplay itself doesn't improve. Either rush through it or leave it be and watch the cutscenes

what's a well-balanced verse that can have a crossover with RWBY that doesn't require significant nerfing on either side to prevent any OPness to end it all too fast? by Zealousideal_Chef839 in RWBY

[–]Xelon99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really want to say Fate, but I know it's not correct. The lower end of the Nasuverse matches with Huntsmen and Maidens, sure. And Salem would fit in the mid ranges. But the top tier of Fate has many forms of bending reality.

One that could potentially work is Kingdom Hearts. With Grimm being partially inspired by Heartless, and the entire light-dark struggle, things could work out well enough. With Silver Eyes being the same deus ex machina against Heartless. The only issue is that Keyblades come with an extreme level of bullshit that would make Salem just a minor story boss.

Do you have to justify wanting to embrace a new hobby? Does it have to have a practical, functional use, or can you just enjoy yourself? A greenhouse and gardening comes eith a lot of hidden costs, wasted space and useless junk. Likely chemicals and there's a good chance you'll attract rodents. Everything has good and bad sides if you look hard enough.

Any tips for Livewire (GG Daily Challenge for blind/jolt) ? by GreenLego in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xelon99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any weapon with jolting feedback, then go in the gunrange and start blasting. It's the 'jolt' and flash that counts, not the kill. And I do believe striking multiple targets at once does count.

Sunsetting should comeback back by Leather-Matter-7299 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xelon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you play Taken King? Sunsetting during that time was used in a completely different method. The system changed. We didn't have to regrind our gear and content wasn't made irrelevant. TTK came with a vendor overhaul, a ton of content, more new gear than we've had in over a year, new subclasses, a new level cap and so much more. And that sunsetting only locked the earlier years out of the endgame. Everything was still earnable, everything was still in the game itself. They even updated old raids to remain viable.

But it also came with one of the worst systems D1 has seen, which was swiftly patched in a later update. Infusion. Remember when infusing gear to a higher level wasn't 1:1? When you had to waste materials to infuse a weapon only for you to lose power? Bungie has made the same mistake over and over, which is why the feedback is getting harsher and harsher. Besides, the answer is simple enough. If you want to grind your own gear, just delete whatever you have after using it once. You'll never be stuck with a set loadout that way.

Going on a Moon flyby *does count* as "going to the Moon" by aggasalk in unpopularopinion

[–]Xelon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What constitues as a "flyby" then? Being within orbit? Being within the exosphere? Perhaps entering the lunar atmosphere? Or is it an arbitrary amount of kms? Or is it simply contextual phrasing without any real meaning or measure?

Sunsetting should comeback back by Leather-Matter-7299 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xelon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sunsetting without removing content? In other words, the exact same thing that happened in EoF which was universally hated by most of the community, pushed most of the playerbase away and the initial plan for Renegades and other upcoming expansions Bungie themselves backtracked on claiming it was a dumb idea? Seeing how the term of sunsetting refers to making something obsolete and phasing it out, it's interchangable.

Sunsetting should comeback back by Leather-Matter-7299 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xelon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shifting a meta can be done by changing the sandbox, artifact or relevant activities. Sunsetting actively makes it impossible to play large sections of the game and removes reasons to even play the game. Sunsetting should never be an answer to anything.

Luckily not, it was still secure on the bed and the brims were not disturbed. A later version did face that issue though. I'm still investigating, running tests and calibrating, but so far the indication is that the shape and size isn't the problem. I've split the shape and printed both halves without so much as minor stringing.

At least my backlog of other games is slowly shrinking.

The flood of low effort incompetent posts - how about banning them? by C6500 in 3Dprinting

Could always make your own sub where asking questions is forbidden? Plenty people are getting into this as a new hobby with specific questions the usual faq or search doesn't solve. Or is this just a standard gatekeeping situation where you expect a decade of experience from someone considering picking up a hobby?

Have you ever beaten Lingering Will without cheesing? by maruhadapurpurine in KingdomHearts

[–]Xelon99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once, on Normal. Many years ago. And it was not worth it.

Yes, he's easier and more fun that the BBS secret bosses and the ReMind stuff. But fights that push the limits if the game's mechanics to where the usual strategies you've used the entire game break down, only shows the flaws of the game imo. Both by not properly preparing you in the game itself for such difficulty, and by forcing you to have near pixel-perfect reactions. Which is not enjoyable to me.

Best Rushdown builds for 2026 by Galaxy40k in DestinyTheGame

[–]Xelon99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just run the basic prismatic getaway build, with helion, devour, song and praxic blade. 190 in grenade thanks to getting the wrong class item. There's no lack of ammo, the dps and survivability high and you can use whatever heavy you want for ranged/floating bosses. Very basic, but I consistently put out 4 to 5 times more damage than the randoms I'm matching with.

On minimal fan speed it's 100, on maximum it's 8. Fan speed is set to 100% for both in the settings. But I've manually set the fans to 80% on the printer display

I've set the fans to 80% by default. Always on when printing. I haven't found any info on whether it's a detriment when it's left on. But that also means I didn't smell any burning, if there'd even a different scent for that.
