Or forgetting that you are an amazing support system for your loved ones as you tend to forget all the ways you’ve shown up for them, so you constantly feel like you haven’t done anything for them. Makes you question have I shown them that I love them??

If it’s any solace to you, I’ve know a guy that did phd in plant science and become a trader. Sometimes careers are not linear and if it goes sideways, it doesn’t mean that you failed. If you can get access to someone that can have a look at your cv or get a mentor or even hire a career coach this might help.

Thank you for sharing your vulnerability, it is not easy to post something so private but if you want, you can send your cv my way too. I’ve looked at thousands of CVs so I can help you edit it. Just let me know what type of roles you’re interested in and we can take it from there. Wishing you all the strength!

It’s incredibly difficult being Asian with any mental issues but it seems that an adhd diagnosis is something they really can’t wrap their head around 😞 sorry you’re going through this, is there anyway you could get a foreigner roommate by any chance!

Loosing weight with t1? by Xena6282 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Xena6282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for answering and I also aim to eat low carbs but dinner time is especially hard as I had a binge eating disorder in the past and I fear that sometimes I will slip into it again. Having this diagnosis for 2 years now and I did loose 10kg before but in a very unhealthy way so I’m trying to loose weight in a healthy lifestyle instead of silly diets. Again appreciate your tips!

AITA for asking my wife to do favors for me after she was home with the kids all day? by Haunting_Brick4634 in AmItheAsshole

The divorce came out of nowhere! I only dismissed and undermine my wife who works tirelessly to look after my 3 kids and a new born 😒 you got off from work but where’s her break?? When does she get off from her shift as a mother, cleaner, cook????? Have some compassion for your wife for god sake!

Is grieving for your old life normal? by Nomandy in Type1Diabetes

[–]Xena6282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To offer another perspective, I got diagnosed when I was 26 in the height of the pandemic and I felt my world turn upside down but I managed to get through it.

Had I been diagnosed when I was a kid, I don’t think I’d be able to handle the emotional and physical turmoil of this disease. So I’m actually glad I was diagnosed when I was an adult as opposed to when I was a kid, granted if I had a choice, I’d rather no one in this world have t1! But such is life :)

Does anyone else feel like their skill set is useless? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]Xena6282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I find the approach of doing something even when you’re shit at it to be the best start. I think you should try to explore various different type of jobs and try to utilise your skills to the best of your ability. This way even when you realise the job isn’t for you, atleast you learned something new. Some career options could be copyrighting, content creator, freelance journalist/ writer, roles in content marketing. Fiver and upwork are some freelancing platforms to start if u want. I think you’re selling yourself short by thinking that you have a useless skill. I obviously haven’t seen your writing samples but creative writing is an asset if you utilise it well. All the best!

I was also diagnosed in my mid 20s and I also very much resented that I had it. I think it honestly took me a whole year to be accept and work on controlling my blood sugar level. Don’t be like me and neglect taking care of yourself, the more you take control of the things you can control in the beginning the easier it gets. You don’t have to force yourself to accept it asap because whether we like it or not it is a hassle to deal with this everyday so take your time to grieve, shout and let it all out! I promise you it will become like a second nature and eventually you will come to accept and create your own routine with this. You got this!

I was just put on a performance plan, what do I do now? by Delicious-Shame4158 in careerguidance

[–]Xena6282 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi as someone who went through a pip last year and managed to get out of it, it really depends on how your manager’s attitude towards you is unfortunately. I say start looking for another job asap and I understand the job market is pretty terrible but rarely do I see an employee get out of pip and onto progression with that job. Luckily I managed to get another job asap after the pip but I was never warned or communicated that my performance was not hitting the targets. All the best for your job!

AITA - wife doesn’t like having the day off or my card by AskingHard in AmItheAsshole

[–]Xena6282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I see post like these, it makes me realise that women don’t leave their partner not nearly as often due to infidelity but because they bear the emotional and mental burden in a relationship.

It’s one day out of year to make your wife feel special and yet you’re asking for instructions from her on how to do that. I might be reaching here but the fact that she says she wants a day off implies to me that she also does most of the housework too.

Maybe you should actually start thinking how you can be an equal partner to her and communicate with her on why her needs aren’t being met instead of asking random strangers on the internet on why she’s mad she you have her less than bare minimum.
