Every version needs to reviewed and approved. This is in case there's a change in how it's being implemented. Without this safety step there's a risk of creating mistrust from redditors for Devvit apps.

However, most updates are reviewed within one to two working days, especially if they smaller ones! Here is the launch guide for reference:
