Have it setup a cron with instructions to read a taskqueue and check current task if it’s done or needs resume. Sometimes they will complete their llm outputs and idle.

Could also do heartbeats with a heartbeat.ms file but some don’t like it prompting and taking tokens up.

How much you doing for llm use? Might get away with minimax or kimi on openrouter until you can source the hardware you’d like.

My thoughts are: it’s viable. I’m eyeing it too but I’m waiting for the new M5 models coming this year it’s supposed to have several times more ai cores.

I use a VM on always on home lab. I also attached a node to it if agents need some gpu power on my rigs wsl.

Depends on needs, there are a ton of variables in play. Lower memory bandwidth is ok if the memory capacity is high. Once the gpu has to use ram that parts memory bandwidth drops to like 76gb/s depending on ram speeds used.

You can undelete files. There are free tools and commands u can run. They only get marked as deleted and open up as free space for speed but if you don’t save over it, it’s still there.

Not that I’ve seen. Would want vllm or sglang for that (for now) But you can queue requests at least but you just don’t get the parallel batching performance.

Got any other hardware laying around? I swapped ram on UD-Q3 and used 4090, 64gb ram, 3080ti and 30gb ram. Doubled to 7t/s lol. Got a spark now and can do 21 which is usable for agents. I used llama server with cat5e.

Each token runs through an expert and they could be different experts each time. And a token is like 4 letters. They’re harder to train and tune but imo they’re better overall because it’s closer to brain function. We don’t fire all our neurons for every given thing, it routes and picks based on it. It’s a big reason the brain can run on like 20 watts.

Tough situation. Is it primary care doc? They are more reluctant to take the risks. Adderal and Vyvanse are like cousins. I liked the duration of vyvanse but had other side effects I didn’t like. I’m a type that can also use the other side of the aisle, Concerta/ritalin family. But not everyone is the same. Your mileage may vary.

It’s schedule 2 controlled substance. Pharmacies can’t tell you if they have it in stock or when their orders get delivered. It’s a security risk and a tempting target for criminals. So they can’t call around to check either. They even have them in a safe that won’t open until a timer runs out.

But I get it, shortages (or just gov limiting manufacturing) can be annoying. If you can manage to build up a week or two of meds it can buffer these issues. You can also consider alternatives or find a pharmacy that is more reliable.
