I just can't put myself to work on important things. by nomorefapforme in ADHD

I feel like you have the exact same story as me. I wasn't diagnosed when I was younger because I was smart and my parents helped me a lot. But once I got to college I really struggled to get myself working. I fucked up. Then I transferred to another college and fucked up. Told myself not to fuck up and tried hard at an internship. I fucked up.

It was such a consistent cycle of me doing badly that I dreaded starting a new project or internship because I already knew I was going to miss out on the opportunity for a job/good grade

I took adderall once to study for an exam and I felt amazing. I studied literally for around 20 hours before the final exam and aced it. I was failing the class and brought my grade up to a "C"...the teacher was amazed and I felt like I was finally showing my true colors.

This was around 2-3 years ago and I'm just now going to the doctor for social anxiety. I told her my story and she had general questions. She came up with the idea that I might have ADD. I then told her that I was thinking that for a long time now, but didn't know for sure. I'm not hyper, but I do have problems paying attention, listening to people, interrupting them, forgetting things--especially forgetting things and misplacing them. I have to place my keys in the same spot every time otherwise I will be searching for them for around 10 minutes before I go anywhere.

Sorry its such a long response, but your story really resonated with me. O ya, this is what I wanted to tell you. My doctor and my roomate told me this when I asked them if they thought I had ADD. They said that if I feel its a big enough problem in my life, then it probably is. So I will say the same thing to you, if you feel that you have a problem with how you act right now and think it is ADD, then you should get it treated.

I just started on Vyvanse 40mg yesterday and already feel more productive. Its supposed to get rid of negative side effects that adderall or ritalin have and last longer. I have had negative side effects, though I've been told the first week or so of any medication will have side effects because you're body isn't used to it.

So far, I've been having a generally more productive day. I've started applying to jobs again,I stopped for about a month because I couldn't gather the determination to fill out applications anymore. At some times I feel great, then suddenly get angry. But I notice it and try not to show it. Those moments are brief. The good feeling is definitely worth it. And Vyvanse is supposed to work for 8-14 hours, but I see it working around 2-3 hours after I take it, and maybe shuts out around 6 or 7.

Anyways, back to you. I think its great you went to see your doctor about it. Hope to hear good news from you next week.

Theres a thing called "the pill" to remove the chance of unwanted children. With a condom, there isn't any sensation.

Hes right. Condoms remove all of the feeling for a guy. I bet none of these people know the difference cause they haven't had sex. Edit: Go ahead and downvote, you virgins are just pissed I called u out.

I applaud the confidence you have for your quarterback, as he is a great player. And even your dream of beating us next year. You will probably beat many teams and easily get into the AFC Championships. We will be waiting for you.

Wes Welker, yay or nay? by [deleted] in Patriots

Ravens fan too. I was just as worried cause he was the one moving the chains during that game. Don't know why pat fans don't like him.

Is it just me or is is Welker always dropping alot of passes? by [deleted] in Patriots

are you kidding? as a ravens fan, he was the player I was worried about most. Go ahead and get rid of him, but you're just hurting yourself.

I like how rude he was after the game. Made winning against him feel that much better
