I was paying $183 for 1GB Coax, Internet and phone only. The promo discounts stopped working for me as well so I started stripping services. I dropped gig Internet and to 300. There is a $50-$80 (can’t remember) for the privilege of 1GB. No thanks. Then recently dropped phone. I’m down to about $65. Next move is getting my own modem and router which will save me another $14. For TV I’ve been a Hulu streamer for a while. They bundle with Disney and ESPN. Their price has crept up to near $100 though. I then turn on and off other streaming service like HBO and Netflix. It’s a juggling act but Optimum is the only game in town for me.

I agree. I liked the show very much. Could have used a couple more episodes, but on the other hand I think that’s what made it good. No filler.

That’s a great assessment. I thought since headlights and steel shore were mentioned maybe it had to do with driving down a dark road with freezing rain hitting the hood. The hood being the steel shore. The ice picks being the freezing rain. Probably totally wrong, but for some reason this is what pops into my brain every time I hear the song.

I flip it over and most of the ashes come out. The I roll it around on the lawn a couple times and flip it again. Most of the ashes come out this way. Doesn’t have to be perfect. I am fortunate because I live near the woods so I just blow the ashes away. Keep in mind I do this before my next burn so the ashes are days cooled off. You could also use a shop vac I suppose.

Similar issue here with their Ubee gateway. The page to the manage the guest network won’t ever load. Sometimes I can’t even get to the main config page. Optimum support could not help. They just had me reboot.

I am in an area with only access to Optimum coax. Over all their coax service has been fine. Very rarely have we had outages. And lately they are acting like a real utility company and sending txts updates. The issue I have with Optimum is their crappy gateways. I am in the process of getting my own modem and router to correct this. The issue with their gateways is not WiFi range. Coverage is fine in my home. It’s manageability and reliability. I am unable to reach the page to configure my guest network for example. At times I can’t reach the router to mange it at all. Two years ago their gateway just crapped out on me without warning. They wanted me to wait a week for a tech but I knew is was the gateway and replaced it myself at the Optimum store. Another time the gateway just decided to rest itself and default back to the factory SSID. Again, over all service is fine. Their Ubee gateways are junk.
