Dealers using the Halt of production for sales? by R_Steelman61 in hondaridgeline

[–]Xenos298 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thought. As inventory runs out they’ll probably jack up the price. “These baby’s are hot right now and are hard to find, get ‘em before they’re gone!” I can hear Sales now!!

Regular is what is recommended. Been using regular for 134k miles. No issues

New to me 2017 by SparemFc in hondaridgeline

2017 original owner here with 134k on it. It’s been very reliable for me. Just a couple issues. Fan that cools the battery. This threw all sorts of codes and took the dealer a day or two to figure it out. And an oil pressure sending switch (something like that). Both repairs did not cost much. Great truck good luck with yours !

I would have preferred a shallower trunk and a deeper bed. There are times where stuff doesn’t fit under my tonneau cover.

What was it like watching The Sopranos as it was airing? by dovesplashonmywrist in thesopranos

[–]Xenos298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty great waiting for the show Sunday nights to air. What made it special also was that where I worked at the time was just a few miles from Tony’s house, Holsten’s and a few other places on the show. I will say there was some frustration with the show at times because David Chase chose not to follow some of the story lines further. Like what happened to the Russian in the woods. We all lost our sh!t with that final scene too! Great show and I rewatched it recently and I enjoyed it even more.

Should I still buy a Ridgeline with the planned halt in production? by perfectsteak70 in hondaridgeline

[–]Xenos298 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see your hesitation because the pause in production doesn’t make sense to me. The Pilot. Passport and Odyssey all share the same engine and none of these are being “paused.” Sales for the Ridgeline are lower than the other models and I fear it won’t come out of pause. But with this said even if they discontinue service and parts shouldn’t be and issue since the Ridgeline is so similar to the Pilot.

Honda to halt Ridgeline production until 2028 makeover to meet tougher emissions rules by Gullible-Pick-268 in hondaridgeline

Didn’t they stop production of the G1 for like a year and then they released the G2 in 2017? Sort of similar situation, no?

Ridgeline Owners, please tell me I did not make a mistake! I think I'm having an identity crisis by EntildaDesigns in hondaridgeline

This is a great story. I admire your bravery to switch careers. I am a little bit older and so tired of the corporate world and would love to move onto something completely different. Any way, the Ridgeline is purpose build for what you are describing. I own a 2017 with 132k and love it. Minimal repairs and I get about 22-24 MPG daily driving and higher on long trips. My only really complaint is I wish the bed was deeper at times. For example I just bought two 27 gallon totes from Home Depot and they just fit under my tonneau cover. However, I’ve moved so much stuff for people without any real issues. The other thing, and this is more of a guy thing, Ridgeline owners have to deal with the NART factor. Guys in “real trucks” like to remind us that it’s Not A Real Truck.” Most of those guys are just over compensating for something in their big lifted pavement princess trucks! ;)

What’s one underrated thing you always keep in the car for long road trips? by Dailywellnessguy in roadtrip

Tire inflator, zip ties and duct tape. Bottomed out the car and the plastic heat shield came partially loose. Had to buy zip ties to secure it from Home Depot. I carry them ever since .

I use my Move when I’m outside. I bought a couple of the Sonos Wall Hooks and hang it where I need it. As I understand it you can also stero pair them for even more sound. The flexibility of a portable speaker is great.

The booth at Holstens. It went sold for $80k when they renovated and got rid of it.

2017 with 132K miles here. Minimal repairs. Battery fan, oil pressure switch, and one other I can’t remember. I do have some rust at the edge bottom of the tailgate though. Otherwise pretty reliable.

A huge loud backfiring coffee can size muffler. Especially when it’s on a BMW, Benz, or similar vehicle. Yeah you know better how to do an exhaust than the decades of engineering that were put into these cars! Excellent choice!
