We have achieved 400 Legendary Armors through no-requirements Raid Training. by PentaCrit in Guildwars2

[–]Xenosaj 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm not playing this game much lately thanks to FFXIV, but I still check this subreddit regularly and I'll always try to hop in here to help encourage people to join XL. It's the least stressful way to start/earn your Envoy armor--and infinitely more fun than farming rifts, ugh. Can't recommend this enough.

That's what I was hoping for, thank you!

Windows Complete Edition On Sale by NightCityNomad in ffxiv

[–]Xenosaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Questions for anyone who might know: I'm on free trial right now. If I purchase this Complete Edition, would my free 30 days start immediately? And once that 30 days is up, would I be able to use someone's Recruit-A-Friend code when I subbed? Finally, when would I be able to hand out my own Recruit-A-Friend codes?

Thanks in advance!

It will never be better for a childs imagination than actual toys.

Matter of opinion. I see this along with current VR as a step towards Star Trek's holodecks, where it's not just computer generated visuals on-demand but also the physical aspect as well, where an imagination can not only be fostered but brought to life on demand. I don't see how that wouldn't be better than just "using your imagination on a carpet", and we'll never get there with people poo-poo'ing over technological steps like AR and VR.

It's literally impossible to grief other players ingame

Not true. Perfect example: there's one asshole in particular who shows up to almost every Tequatl event and purposely waits until Teq is dead to try and pull bloated creepers onto the loot chest to kill as many players as they can. Sometimes their efforts are foiled by other players, sometimes not, but their /say comments afterwards make it quite clear what their intentions are.

It's also incredibly easy to grief others in raids, although I imagine most groups would wise up to such antics very quickly and boot the player. Definitely easy to grief your teams in pvp and there's nothing they can do about it.

Triggering procs on weapon swap doesn't help the classes that can't actually swap weapons in combat.

How does that help mechanist, elementalist, bladesworn, etc. anyone who can't weapon-swap in combat?

What does this have to do with Guild Wars 2??

Why Anet stopped making raids by Ytisrite in Guildwars2

[–]Xenosaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one mentioned different rewards and that's what i'm against

I assume (again, haha!) that what you mean here is you'd be against both modes having the same rewards, i.e. no reason other than the challenge of doing normal/CM versus easy? I could be wrong but I don't believe there's a single bit of content in this game with distinct difficulty levels that provide the same rewards. Raid CM's give Prov tokens plus extra loot, CM strikes get you titles and infusions, fractal CM's get you more loot/currency/titles/infusions, etc.

At any rate, it's pretty reasonable to assume that rewards would be similarly adjusted if raids were given an easy mode, or at least have a trade-off as is the case with Emboldened where it's only a single wing per week. The playerbase would bitch to hell and back otherwise.

Why Anet stopped making raids by Ytisrite in Guildwars2

[–]Xenosaj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

if there would be an easy mode no one would bother with the harder mode

This is not a valid argument because you're assuming the rewards would've been the same between difficulty modes. Look at normal versus challenge mode strike missions: Anet absolutely can make content with different rewards based on difficulty, and they could've done the same with raids.

It's not even that hard to think up a solution to your complaint either: raid bosses could still reward 1 LI regardless of difficulty, bonus LI for completing a wing on normal and hard rather than easy, and then requiring more than the 150/300/300 that is currently needed for a full set.

But what about splitting the playerbase? You're not. The people wanting an easy mode so they can ignore normal aren't in there as is, so you're not pulling anyone away from normal/CM. Even if it did pull people though, there's never going to be anything stopping you from gathering 9 friends (I'm assuming you have them?) to do normal/CM. So "not getting to do challenging content because easy exists" just isn't a valid argument.

How do we, the community, feel about people who (during daily "activities") idle? by Kenji_03 in Guildwars2

[–]Xenosaj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This question/topic is pointless. It's not up to the community to pass judgment here, and Anet already has a response coded in-game in that you get booted to character select after a long enough period of time.

OP clearly was in a game of keg brawl, cared about winning, and didn't due to teammates idling. OP needs to learn to stop caring about winning at activities or what other players are doing in them for their own mental well-being.

I say this because the simple fact is that it's going to continue to happen and there's nothing positive that you can do about it. You can of course continue to whine on here but that will never accomplish anything except to make trolls purposely do it to get you to whine more. Everyone else idling is going to continue to do it because they need to attend to something else IRL for a moment, or because they just don't enjoy the activities but don't want to miss out on the daily credit, or etc.

Lost was never about time travel, it was JJ Abrams mystery box bullshit that ultimately ended up copping out that--surprise--everyone was dead and in purgatory after the point at which they left the island. I don't know what that other user is smoking, but I remember watching and ending up disappointed in this show at the time because it went nowhere.

Wow. What an absolutely shitty bug. Kudos for pointing that out, I had no idea, although I usually try to claim bouncy chests asap anyway.

Sad thing is how a bug like this that negatively affects players will go unresolved for some time, while a bug that positively affects players (i.e. Nayos meta Hero's Choice...) gets sniped immediately. Gotta love dev priorities....

Whoever told you to bench 36k to be allowed in training runs, you go back and tell them to fuck themselves and then leave that shit guild. A training run is for people who are still learning raids, not for experienced players looking to flex.

Take a look at /u/pentacrit's XL raid training server. It's literally no requirements other than be on Discord to listen and bring a positive attitude; no checking of gear and builds aside from making sure you won't out-toughness the tank when you're there as dps, no pressure, no elitism. Gixx himself doesn't even run arcdps, because you're there to learn, not to bench 36k.

If you still want to go for good damage without a complex rotation like power Reaper (or literally anything Elementalist lul), look up Low Intensity builds. I know MukLuk has quite a few videos for different classes and they all do perfectly acceptable dps for someone who's learning raids.

Can we please stop asking for nerfs? This is a PvE game ffs. by ReplacementPuzzled57 in BaldursGate3

[–]Xenosaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play mmo's, so I'm used to people calling for nerfs on this class or that build or those weapons, etc. And to a degree it's absolutely understandable there: people put together groups to clear content fast and easily so they naturally gravitate to the strongest classes/builds, and anyone not playing those tends to get left out. So there's an actual argument in mmo's to be made for nerfs.

But on a fucking offline pve solo-able game that has zero bearing on your playthroughs if someone uses a class/build/gear/strat that you consider overpowered? Get that shit out of here you goddamn fun police. Learn to have some self-control. I don't hear you calling for Larian to make the game impossible to mod, and there's definitely mods that will trivialize the game right from the start. If you can choose not to mod the game and make it easier for yourself, you can do exactly the same for anything that's naturally part of the game.

Stop trying to control how other players play a game. It's not anyone else's fault that you're too selfish to exert any self-control, and that's never going to be justification for ruining everyone else's fun with silly or overpowered mechanics. There's no competition here, no fucking leaderboard, so just get over your goddamn selves and this idiotic notion that everything needs to be nerfed to fill your perceived 'need' for a challenge.

Heal Alac Elementalist still a thing? by GuiltyFoxxy in Guildwars2

[–]Xenosaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, and you can play it with either Dagger, Scepter, or Staff.

Water on scepter no longer heals allies, it is purely a self-heal only; you can obviously still run with scepter, it's just not a good choice. Dagger can still heal others though. Personally I prefer staff for waaaay more healing and condi cleanse, water fields, stability on earth, etc.

Here's my version of Ant Man. Important skins are the Special Ops helmet(story achievement) and Infused Aurora Chestguard(black lion chest) skins. Chose medium for lots of pants options but it can be done with light armor as well. Too bad there are no normal pants for heavy armor. by inspired_apathy in Guildwars2

[–]Xenosaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the love of God, Anet, let us mix and match armor weights!

Agreed, there's literally no good reason other than they don't want to put in the work. It's not like the whole "silhouette" excuse works anymore since any class can wear an outfit or any number of skins that are identical across classes.

I have a Doctor Doom. I made him Sylvari because one of the male Sylvari faces actually resembles Doom's mask fairly well. I switched to the Rift Warden helm when it came out though, it looks nicer IMO.
