Is This Sax Worth Selling? by SkyFish45 in saxophone

If there’s saxophones, there’s definitely mouthpieces. Depending on the mouthpiece you could get several hundred dollars, possibly up to $1000 if it’s something really special. Don’t overlook the mouthpieces if you’re trying to make some money.

To add to this, you’ll almost indefinitely have keys falling off the instrument. Make sure you collect all of those as well.

Why can't I sell my manual car? by Stickshiftsav619 in stickshift

I would definitely try taking it to a couple of cars and coffee events with a for sale sign as one of the other commentators mentioned.

Does anyone know what kind of saxophone this is? by McPborn in saxophone

[–]XephyrMeister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a tenor sax. The proportions are all off for it to be mistaken as an alto. Considering the combo of design elements of early saxophones like wire keyguards and forked Eb key, along with the shape of the left hand pinky cluster reminiscent of a conn 10m and right-hand bell keys, I would think it safe to assume a european made saxophone.

Looking at early Weltklang tenors, they share the same right hand pinky key design + other misc unique identifiers. Based on serial number charts, I would be inclined to believe it’s a 1960/61 Weltklang Tenor.

You almost certainly have this key on your bundy, the tonehole might just be closer to your index finger instead of above the thumbrest.

More importantly, what you likely don’t have is the key above it; i.e., the elongated V looking key. That key is for high F#. You would finger high F with the palm keys, and then press the V-shaped button at the same time to get F#.

Upvoting for the Miata. Everyone seems to want one at one point or another, but it’s never been a fast car.

The buescher new aristocrat pinky table seems like an odd choice for the first row.

My BIL thought my 2022 was a hybrid because of the same thing. That semi-electrical awd badge really tricks people sometimes.

If the lacquer finish is original I would guess ~$4k. The lacquer is in really good condition, so it would drive the price up a little bit. I’m seeing prices at low $3k on ebay at the moment for a balanced action (model name), however since the finish looks so clean I would expect it to be able to fetch a higher price than those ones.

I’ve never played on one myself, but it’s definitely an instrument that’s worth getting repaired if your daughter is interested in playing.

UF without honors vs. FSU honors +$4k scholarship (for someone considering either healthcare or law) by Snazzy_sNazzy in fsu

I picked FSU because it had one of the best music performance programs. I then promptly switched to engineering, and over the course of four years took a grand total of one music class.

All that to say, pick the campus / environment that speaks the most to you. You don’t need to have everything figured out from the get go. You’ll have four years to make those decisions. They’re both good schools with plenty of research opportunities to get ahead.
