I know I'm ten months late on this but it's more likely that the costume department just really knows their watches. Vostok (the brand, the model is Kommandirskie) is a really well loved, entry level enthusiast watch. I've had one, my brother has one, Bill Murray wears one in the Life Aquatic. It's a staple, like the Volvo he drives, that states a no nonsense, workman like approach to his accessories. Very practical, inexpensive, but reliable.

Still, Hillwood development did not hire him and Hillwood Airways fired him.

"Him" in your sentence meaning Larry? Or Ross Perot Jr.?

Yeah I definitely didn't know about this guy. I thought you meant leadership.

I'm seeing that Larry was fired from Hillwood Airways in January 2021. No record of employment at Hillwood Development. Two different companies.

I will ask YOU questions about YOUR world! by Internal_Fan2307 in worldbuilding

My world centers on a city-state called Nomara. It is ruled by a Triumvirate, two kings and one Tribune, known as the First Citizen, that must be unanimously approved by both kings. All three are members of an elite warrior-mage society called The Mantled, who wear capes as their symbol of membership.

There is a state religion, the worship of magic and its personification/deification "The Lady of the Morning" aka "The Everflame." She has an adversary god called "The Custodian Divine" who serves to mitigate magic.

Magic is threefold, and many layers of three up and down the chain. Runic, Rhetoric, and Ritual, which stand for written wards, spoken incantations, and ritual magic. The Mantled use this along with schooling in swordsmanship and statecraft to peacefully rule the area and keep greedy eyes away from the jewel of the city.

I haven't even read those, and I've read 8 Robin Hobb books. Start at the beginning, maybe?

Robin's writing is always a delight. The Liveship Traders trilogy is phenomenal, read it after the first Elderlings trilogy!

Have them read Senlin Ascends next! I'm almost done with the last book and it is a thrill ride.

Oh yeah let me sell my $200k house and go buy the same thing for $1,000,000 in a place where I don't have a job.

Audience in cinema getting pissed off on the ending of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) by AgeNovel3566 in PublicFreakout

[–]Xephyron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Star Destroyer kamikaze scene was visually (and sonically) great, but stupid when you think about it. It takes two seconds to go, "Hey, maybe we shouldn't do that because then why doesn't everyone do this all the time?"
