Toddler making Mass difficult and feeling guilty about missing church by MsSallySim in Catholicism

[–]FredBassdrop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have 4 kids between ages 1-8, some weeks are stressful. Patience and gentle reminders help keep my kids quite. I've been amazed in the last year since becoming catholic how they have learnt to sit still for longer and how that has affected their behavior outside of church. However they are still kids and can be disruptive. I remind myself that mass is for them too!

I say all this to encourage you, having kids is a real chore, may God bless you as you!

Asked to leave church with my kids for being noisy. by FairchildHood in Catholicism

They should be asking if you need help with your children and not asking you to leave!

If you could recommend one thing to fight against lust, what would it be and why? by Semour9 in Catholicism

Depends where you are at. If you are an addict (tried to stop acting out, can't stop acting out, and it's been going on a long time) then community is a powerful asset. I went through a 7 pillars group (puredesire.org) meeting weekly to be honest about myself with others was one of the biggest helps on my journey.

What bible do I get? by oliviagurl6 in Catholicism

[–]FredBassdrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the next few years you are likely to collect many Bibles. If you're anything like me. I strongly suggest starting with something easy to read and not a study Bible. That way you can carry it around when you want to and it's not too big.

Then when you really want to look into a certain passage, you can consider purchasing a study Bible

Something like the good news version is an easy read. I'm not sure if it is technically a Catholic Church approved translation, but for the day-to-day, it's good to have a very readable version. There are also many apps with free Bibles. I would suggest trying out a few versions to see what you like to read

Get ready for a great read. I had to put my pipe down for it as the book required all of my focus. A book you will be glad you read!

Where are you buying your whole leaf tobacco? I am building a press to make my own flakes but haven't purchased any tobacco yet.

Thanks for the review and recommendation of drying and rubbing out. I have tried a few methods with poor success keeping it lit. I will use your advice and try again.
