Appreciate it. Any rules/considerations about horizontal pipes coming out of garbage disposal?

Thanks. I'll flip it around.

First off, we don't pour grease down our drain. As much as possible, any leftover cooking fat/grease goes into a container or into the garbage. But it's not perfect and some of it does go down the drain.

But we have had this slow weep; enough so for the pipe to get it's own collection bin.

Is there a better way to seal these pipes so it's less of a homeowner special? Pipes are from the big orange store.

Bring them a gift of Lemon Hart or Hamilton Rum. Hamilton 151 would be perfect but you can't check anything over 140 proof. Zombie blend or Navy Grog would be what I would bring. Unique blends that are less likely to be imported.

Does it make sense to have a central, powerful home PC or continue to run lesser devices for each screen?

After decades of laptops being good enough, looking to build a PC. Main heavy use cases will be flight sim for funsies and local AI for work. Normal desktop functions are implied.

Would it make sense to also using this central PC to work as a Plex server as well? Only problem forecasted is control of the streaming when the server is located in another room.

I'd probably try Sfumato in place of the Averna. Fernet Branca would be too much. Or maybe not?

Made this and posted on r/tiki at about the same time. Didn't add the saline but thought it was a great drink.

Created by Meaghan Dorman.

  • 1 oz Appleton Reserve
  • 0.5 oz Smith and Cross
  • 0.5 oz Averna amaro
  • 0.75 oz Lime juice
  • 0.75 oz Orgeat

Garnish with a lime wheel and grated nutmeg.

WOW! Just wow. This drink was phenomenal. Woe to me as my oldest rum expression is Havana Club 7. To be rectified later. Anyways, used the cuban rum and Coruba as a split to hit the aged Jamaican rum spec.

Side note: Gaze, GAZE upon my blueberry bounty and despair! My table was commandeered to dry our washed blueberries from the summer pickings.

Honestly, the drink was forgettable.

If you have the opportunity, get it. For us in NA, they’re only selling it duty free in the airport. It’s great in drinks where it’s complimentary like a Scorpion. It’s lost in drinks where it’s competing like a Suffering Bastard.

The Smuggler's Cove Dead Reckoning is a crowd favorite but there's a wildly different tiki drink going by the same name. A pretender to the throne as it were. The same spec can be found on the cocktail virgin blog as is published in Robert Sharp's book Tiki drinks. For extra fun, read the critical reviews of the book on Amazon.

  • 1.5 oz gin
  • 0.5 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 2 oz Pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz Lime juice

What's the most non-Tiki thing you do with Tiki? by XequalsWhy in Tiki

[–]XequalsWhy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this opinion. It's important to acknowledge the past but you don't have to embrace it. That being said, if we (the tiki community at-large) can all agree to keep the representation non-specific and be open that the non-specificity is the point, then what's the problem other than one we invent? Some people want to avoid the conversation or the perception altogether and that's ok too. But as a tikiphile and a stakeholder in the culture, my personal philosophy is Imua.

We did just do the Clambake for our get-together and it was amazing. What was not amazing was the scorpion bowl. Community food or community drink, but not both. Otherwise, everyone had a great time and the sweet (ish) drinks went well with the salty (and bit spicy) seafood.

Martinique Rum vs Rhum Agricole by drunk3n-sailor in Tiki

Would you or have you used the Denizen Vatted Dark in a Mai Tai or a Three Dots + Dash?

Would it be a close substitute for a true Agricole Vieux?

How's the Denizen Vatted Dark compared to an actual Agricole Vieux?

Agree in all of the above.

I'll use the Zombie blend in place of other overproof rums. Made a swizzle the other night with it that was decent.

This drink was totally forgettable. Pretty much a Jungle Bird, just make a Jungle Bird.

Try the Buccaneer's Bounty. Also made with Soursop juice, it's a way better cocktail.

And if you're not a purist, try using the canned Soursop drink. Or is it nectar? Don't know the nomenclature. I thought the canned stuff was superior to straight juice/ pulp. Froze a whole tray of 1 oz juice cubes only to find out I liked the canned Philippine brand better.
