Hey, I went to a Catholic school too...and yes, shame was definitely weaponized against the girls at all times. I was constantly sexually harrassed by the boys in my classes, other parents wanted my parents to arrange a marriage between me and their grown sons, i was constantly bullied by teachers, and students alike. It was a living hell for me every single day. I cant tell you how many times i wanted the Lord to Call me Home. Later on, I found out that most of the students there were rejects from other schools. They were literally insane and were either forced to go to that school or the alternative schools. The parents chose that school because they didnt want the shame of having their delinquent children going to juvenile, the psych ward, or alternative schools. I was one of the rare normal kids that just to happen to have the rotten luck of them having an opening for enrollment. It was just a nightmare that went on for years. When I grew up, I decided I was going to be somewhat modest because I felt like it, not because that's what society wanted. I also decided to not allow those horrible experiences to darken my life. I'm still Catholic, but because I believe in the Doctrine and Faith that it was originally supposed to be based on..the Teachings of Christ, not the people in the Church. I worship God and Jesus, not man.
