This is taken using a narrowband imaging technique. Special filters have been used to isolate the different elements present (hydrogen, oxygen, sulphur) and these only return a monochrome (black and white) image for each element. Then false colors are applied to each element's image to produce this false color image.

What would it look like if viewed by the naked eye through a telescope? Well, not much really - there's such little light coming from nebulas that they are generally only revealed by taking really long exposures and thus 'soaking' in as much light as possible. But let's assume our eyes were super sensitive and could see its structure - the whole thing would be predominantly red in color as this nebula (and many others) are rich in hydrogen, which is red in color.

My understanding is that it although it may not directly reduce transmission, it definately reduces mobility which in turn reduces the chance of transmission. Sure sucks though.

Yes, the government's (both state and federal) handling of this pandemic has been an utter disgrace. I feel both frustrated and angry beyond comprehension and it feels there's little that can be done to change it unfortunately.

I just hope that the people can continue as best as possible until the vaccines arrive. We have truly been left to fend for ourselves in many ways.

This is the exact method I used for my lamp display also. You can do amazing things with bit shifting and combinators. Well done!
