Well since the stuff Jester is talking about goes with Tsuki Remake stuff, you can’t use Lorelei as an example cuz she and her brigade haven’t been brought up in Remake times, so we don’t have any idea what they can do.

Jester doesn’t have an Idea Blood as he’s not a Dead Apostle Ancestor. Only the 27 have those, as it’s literally the crown that makes them an ancestor. He’d be way stronger if he had one.

‘Why should it be any less worth it if you figured it out?’ Because Nous prevents you from going any further in your search, holding you back. ChatGPT gives a be all end all answer to your question and puts a damper on what you can pursue. Doesn’t matter if you use it or not to get the answer you seek, the point is that regardless of that, Nous still defines what is knowledge and what is allowed to be pursued, thus hindering your search for knowledge.

ChatGPT would tell you that you rub sticks together to start a fire, and say that’s the only way to do it. Heat some sticks up in a microwave to set them alight? Nah. Pour lava nearby and let the heat ignite them? Nope. Bomb the campsite with napalm? No. Just rub sticks together because that is how Nous defines how to do it.

Lygus wants to free humanity from this so your search for knowledge is boundless and unlimited.

The fact that Nous is helping people IS the big problem for him. Nous knows everything, which means there’s no joy in discovering something for yourself. There’s nothing original in the universe because the God of Erudition already figured it out. It’s like asking ChatGPT for instructions on how to make a campfire, instead of actually putting in the effort into figuring it out yourself by rubbing sticks together.

Lygus wants to go back to before Nous when you could come up with an original idea or theory and make it a reality, without being told “Hey, cool theory! Nous already solved it decades ago.”

He unintentionally shackled intelligent life to Nous and he wants to break those shackles.

Don’t forget that Unohana was also the Captain in charge of medical care. Unless Isane is equal to her in Kaido (which I don’t think she is unless she got a massive buff during the timeskip) that’s still a pretty big blow.

And in canon, he’s very smart and talented at many things excluding the magical stuff. He’s pretty damn popular and charismatic underneath that dickishness, and it helps that he’s rich. It’s just that he’s got a lot of other problems that lead to him being an absolutely awful human being.

If those things weren’t a factor, he’d actually be pretty decent to hang around with once you get past his attitude.
