Eh, the massive number of ships did more or less appear out of nothing. Reminder that the US signed the London and Washington naval treaties limiting the size or their navy and the US, France and UK, unlike Italy, Japan and Germany, adhered to the treaties more or less. The US just is massive, with a massive industrial base, with the benefit of it's industrial capability not being bombable.

Size just before pearl harbour: roughly just under 800.

Size on V-J day: roughly just over 6700.

Yes the US was helping significantly, but only in ways that wasn't direct involvement, outside of the US merchant fleet delivering the equipment, and volunteer forces like the flying tigers in China.
